because they have there mind set on only their views ad half the time there views are nothing but hypocritical. It is great to have your own beliefs but you shouldn't PUSH them on other people or hate them because they don't agree with you. But it happens in ALL religions.

I don't think you can just make a generalization that all Christians hate what they don't understand tho it does sometimes appear that way from the general public opinion...as a few others have said here the generalization of hating what one does not understand could be applied to other religious types as well...my suggestion to you would be to try to keep an open mind and not become a hater...learn where they are coming from and try to be tolerant. Hate is a sickness you don't wont to catch

They don't. I'm a Christian and although it's hard to not understand things, i don't hate them. I embrace them and try to learn more about them. It's just a human thing - we're scared of the unknown. But not all Christians hate what they don't understand; that's stereotypical.

you can add: muslem and other religious people.
they don't intend to understand you. they want that you will be under their influence.
and if you don't agree wuth them - they will hate you.
this is the reason to most of the religious war in the history.

I never told my religion nor scrutinize that of another. I never attempted to make a convert nor wished to change another's creed. I have judged of others' religion by their lives, for it is from our lives and not from our words that our religion must be read. By the same test must the world judge me.

Understanding is truly over rated. Faith is true. I am a Christian and I do not fall into your statement. Have faith that the truth is guiding you. If we ascent our similarities and not our differences we would find that we have a great deal in common. A world with out hunger or war . I hope you agree.

I got to ask you something what do you mean we hate what we don't understand? ...what is this "thing" we do not understand? can you be more specific? ...because if you are insinuating we do not know what it is like to be a sinner and bound by sin well your sadly mistaken...everyone is a sinner and well our eyes have just been opened...it's not that we hate anyone..on the contrary we love people and know where we came from and know how God can help lost and blind people if they would only open their hearts.

Simple. If it conflicts with their religious dogma, it is deemed to be a threat to them.

When science discovers something that conflicts with religion, it must be supressed. Anything that removes the awe, fear and mystery is a threat to Almighty God!
