It is time to reconsider the confusing and ambiguious definition of the words:Father & Son; son of God, Son of David, son of adam, Children of God etc. etc.

Can't we agree 'one God'- the God of Adam, Ibraham, Ishmael and Issac and follow 'His Will' instead of creating confusions and following our own wills.

Explain why some people (James, Peter, Paul, Thomas, etc.) should get convincing physical proof of miracles, while the rest of us are supposed to take these happenings on faith.

Christians have several pre - incarnations of Jesus in the old testement.
examples are
1) Angel of the Lord appearing to joshua.
2) 1 of the angels that came to abraham just before sodom + G. were destroyed.
3) Angel that appeared to Gideon

Christians see these as Jesus, since these angels accepted worship, and the words they spoke, were infering that the angel had power.

What is the jewish interpretation of these incidences?

Couldn't the early Church fathers have converted pagans only by appealing to their reason and/or faith if Christianity is the true religion?

All the many millennia of previous prophets (Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Noah, ...etc.) and their people are all condemned to never receive true salvation simply because Jesus, the alleged "Son of God," arrived to late to save them. In other words, they have sin forced upon them (by Adam, 1 Corinthians 15:22) and the chance for redemption withheld from them (By Jesus' late arrival after their death, Galatians 2:16).
Paul says "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come." Romans 5:14
"For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath reason to boast; but not before God." Romans 4:2
If Jesus had only arrived as soon as Adam committed his sin and not thousands of generations later then maybe all of these generations could have received true salvation (like this generation).
Did Abraham or any of the other prophets ever preach the "crucifixion"? Did they preach the "Trinity"? I am asking for clear and decisive words and not personal forced interpretations of their words or "hidden meanings" for their words. If you are not sure then why not ask the Jews who we are told faultlessly transmitted two thirds of the Bible to us? Have any of them ever worshipped a Trinity? Many people do not bother to think about this. As long as they are going to heaven, what does it matter what happens to others?

Some early Greek manuscripts of Matthew present Barabbas' name twice as Jesus bar Abbas: manuscripts in the
Caesarean group of texts, the Sinaitic Palimpsest, the Palestinian Syriac lectionaries and some of the manuscripts used
by Origen in the 3rd century, all support the fact that Barabbas' name was originally Jesus Barabbas, though not all
modern New Testament translations reflect this. Origen deliberately rejected the reading in the manuscript he was
working with, and left out "Iesous" deliberately, for reverential considerations, certainly a strongly motivated omission.
Early editors did not want the name Jesus associated with anyone who was a sinner.

primitive human societies all have some form of religion. humans have been inventing deities since they (modern humans) appeared on earth. Why do we reinvent super beings to "supervise" human societies? what social function do these deities fulfill so well for humans that we have been recreating and evolving these deities over eons.

Exodus 35:2 [KJV] Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH. [NIV] For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it MUST BE PUT TO DEATH.

I know.I know.People are going to say because Jesus died for our sins and so forth. But those are usually the same people who quote Leviticus and there are those who quote Corinthians and yet have no idea of what the original Hebrew and Greek texts said.they only read updated books that say what they want them to say and only focus on what they need for their contempt of others yet have no knowledge beyond a few verses.

So, I wonder, should we take everything the Bible says literally? And which version should be used? The original or a bias edited one?

Not Don Quixote tilting at windmills or asking, "God, please teach me patience."

But some kind of goal. Obviously I can't go running about the country finding glory. But, a task ... a goal... something that I could achieve but means risk and fulfillment.

I'd like to try Something that will help me find satisfaction in my life, be it religious or a personal betterment or even an artistic break-through.

Any ideas from this generous group would be more than welcome.

And, I thank you in advance.
