You drive as fast as the speed sign tells you. Anything faster, you are violating the law

I drive as fast as the posted limits say (give or take one or 2 mph, but if I notice I go over, I slow down), which is 65 mph out here.

The way I see it, the speed limits are there to keep me safe, and allows me a chance to slow down appropriately and safely if I need to. I personally believe that, "It is far better to arrive at my destination late, than it is to never arrive there at all". That's usually why I tend to leave a good ten or fifteen minutes early for whereever I'm going, to account for traffic, fog, and so on.

It depends if the CHP is in the area. The flow of traffic and the speed of independent truckers is a good clue. Radar sensors would greatly influence my decision to disregard the post speed limits or to comply with the speed limits. In Arizona, in most unpopulated areas, and desolate freeways the speed limit is 80 under optimum conditions. That sets just fine with me.

Sometime over the speed limit 75-80 mph. I'm always in a hurry.
