primitive human societies all have some form of religion. humans have been inventing deities since they (modern humans) appeared on earth. Why do we reinvent super beings to "supervise" human societies? what social function do these deities fulfill so well for humans that we have been recreating and evolving these deities over eons.

I don't think that's the right question. You're assuming that the concept of a "god" exists to benefit human beings. I think that it exists to benefit itself - that religious belief systems evolve for their own benefit, not for ours.

WELL I guess he is Creator of the universe for starters! I would be careful what desrespect you show to HIM because I heard He will destroy some by the brightness of His coming.
