You say the Bible proves God made the Earth, some say the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster made the Earth.

Why do both books have the same amount of empirical evidence?

Why why why why why why

I have been a Christian all my life. I go to a non-denominational church and I don't consider myself to be a religious person and I don't follow religious rules. Rather, Christianity to me is a way of life, not a set of rules. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he died for my sins and rose to Heaven. I believe God is the ruler over all, and is ultimately in control of everything.

I try to live everyday like Jesus Christ did and I want to have a personal relationship with him (as that is the only way of getting into Heaven).

But with everything going on in the world, I want to be SURE that I am on God's side and He will be with me and protect me from all the evil in the earth today.

But how do I KNOW for sure that I am on God's side? And, ultimately, that I will go to Heaven when my time comes?

Why do Christians feel that the only true way to live is to believe in their God and that all others religions are erroneous. Isn't this a very narrow, ignorant, and arrogant view?
The Bible preaches that if you are a non believer, you are esentially their enemy and you will burn in hell. This does not sound like a very good idea to accept and to live one's life. It is telling people that a believer is a superior human being compared to non believers.
What are some of your thoughts on this topic? Please answer intelligently and base your answers on some sort of solid reasoning.

In John 8:58 Jesus said, "Before Abraham was born, I AM". The Greek used for "I AM" is that same as in the Greek version of the Old Testament when God gives His covenant name - the eternal "I AM that I AM".

In John 10:30 Jesus said, "I and the Father are one".

Isaiah 44:6 says:
Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel
and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:
"I am the first and I am the last;
besides me there is no god."

Revelation 1:17-18, Jesus tells us that He is the "first and the last". Clearly the Redeemer is the LORD of hosts, who is Jesus. The reason LORD is in caps is to clarify that it translates the Hebrew name of God - YHWH. The Redeemer, Jesus, is YHWH.

Further, Romans 10:9 reads, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

So you have to confess that Jesus is God in order to be saved.

WHICH THIEF ARE YOU?
When at the cross with Jesus the two persons with Christ were thieves, and were sent to die with Jesus. Now the nails in the thieves hands nor the distance from Christ was the issue and it was not what kept them from Christ. The difference between those who died that day and you is nothing. You and I are just as dead, we live on a planet where there is A 100% death rate. Now we can’t feel the nails like they did, in fact we don’t feel anything. Most go around for the most part as if all is fine.
Without understanding, that we are just as doomed, just as dead. Tell, me what goals does A dead person need? The one cross held someone that prevented him [not the nails] from giving Jesus everything, all his choices added up to rejecting the person who could save him, on the other hand the nails held him to the cross, but did not keep him from Christ. At the end of Life, you will end up either hanging on no matter what, or something will keep you hear, li

Jesus says, in Matthew 5:33
"Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.'
"But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne; "nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
"Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
"But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

I believe that the bible tells us very clearly that all the races was created on the sixth day. Gen chap 1 v. 26-28. Hunters and fishers and so on. Then you read that God rested on the seventh day and only then did he realize that ther was no man to till the ground.Gen chap.2 v.1-5.
Dont let traditions of man make void the word off God!

Here are a couple other quotes to ponder:

“I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU [American Civil Liberties Union], People for the American Way—all of them who have tried to secularize America—I point the finger in their face and say, ‘You helped this happen.’”
-Jerry Falwell, speaking on who’s at fault for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“Tolerance is the worst roar of all, including tolerance for homosexuals, feminists, and religions that don’t follow Christ.”
-Josh McDowell at a 1994 Youth for Christ rally

These may come as a shock. Please no personal attacks, just opinions.

We don't attend a church. We would like to, but we just moved to a new place and it seems like attending regularly is going to be a problem if we do join. If you don't attend church, what ways do you teach your children about God?

I have no stupid political identity but I believe its a duty, part of a social contract we make when mature, to vote.

Sadly, we can only vote 'left or right' and the right, with the exception of the Perot period always gets my vote...while i also hold my nose.

I give the right my vote because their stupid religion doesnt get in the way of pragmatic choices as often as the lefts stupid religion. I wish we could get intelligent Presidential candidates but it appears thats, based on our current two party and campaign finance system, thats off the table for the forseeable future .

All I can do is vote for the idiot who is more likely to only make decisions based on the real interest of our country as opposed to some grand wacko religious dream of the world.

Bush is "religious" and I wish it wasnt so, but ironically, his religion doesnt inspire anywhere near the amount of "grand delusional" visions for the world as the religion of the left. (sigh), stuck on the losy "right"...

I'm a Christian, so don't think i'm here to bash God. But i don't understand how God can give us a free will, and still know what's going to happen in the future...He's all knowing, so he knows everything there ever will be, right? so i dont get how we have our own free will. I guess it's cuz i'm trying to figure God out, and thats nearly impossible....
