Teach your son the lessons and words of Jesus. His message is LOVE, not hate. Tolerance.
Get a bible story book about Jesus - read it and decide which lessons you want your son to walk away with.
The Golden Rule is a great start. Respect is derived from that, and the world would be a better place if he understands the meaning, not just knows the words. Treat others as you want to be treated. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Work on this, and show him by your own example.

You can spend time together reading Bible stories, praying, and talking about the situations that you get into on a daily basis, and how, as Christians, you ought to handle those situations.
You can pray before each meal, and after dinner, you can discuss a certain character trait that you would like to work on that week. I saw a video of a Baha'i family that did this, and I thought it was pretty neat. Each week, the family would put traits on pieces of paper and put them in a bowl. Things like, "Lovingkindness," "honesty," "integrity," etc. Then they would draw from the bowl, and whichever trait they drew out was the one for the family member to work on that week. They would discuss after dinner how they incorporated that trait throughout their day, and stuff like that.
Also, you can just be open about your faith within the family. So, for example, if you are faced with any moral choice, you can say, "Well, what would Jesus do if He were in this situation?" And then you can point out a Bible story and then make that decision to do what Jesus would do. This is a great thing to open awareness in your children that Christianity is not just something you do on Sundays. It is something you do all the time, and it guides you in all your life decisions.

Of course read the Bible is a start. Get him a children's bible with stories and the like. Encourage questions. As for going to church, I don't regularly attend as part of my observance of faith. However, I do accept invitations. You should make some effort to meet with ministers/priests so that they can give a view of Christ. After all, they've devoted their lives to knowing him better than anyone.

i would encourage you to read the bible and pray together. Maybe find some good radio sermons and listen to those together. It is important to find a home church too so that he can fellowship and God also commands us not to forsake assembling together (we need one another to spur one another towards love and good deeds- Hebrews 10:24-25).
It seems like there are churches in your area- you just have to commit (at least to finding a church) and make it a family priority. Values are better caught than taught- so you want your kid to catch on that assembling with other believers and setting aside Sunday to worship God is important!
Hope that helps,

Sunday worship is great, but teach him to think of Jesus everyday, not just on Sundays. Find examples everywhere of people living like Christ and of course read from the scriptures of Christ himself. Teach of His qualities: Love everyone, forgive, be a peacemaker, stand for truth and righteousness. Hope this helps

i do attend church but i don't get it. my parents sit down with me and asks me whatt's worng or what I wnat to change about myself. i reply and then my parents will open up the Bible and read to me in my bed. So i'll always have good dreams and in the morning feel as if God is next to me. We listen to a christian channel on the way to school and then my mom tells me "i love you and so does God". I just can't wait to do that to my children. I know it gave me a good feeling as if I was loved by everyone!

Find a place that shares your beliefs and attend as often as you can. The Scripture says "Forsake ye NOT the asssembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is." As far as your homelife, I suggest having devotionals for a few minutes each day in which you teach your children the basic tenets of your beliefs. Then as they get older and have more questions, elicit advice from clergy of your faith to offer some wisdom from the Scriptures to help further your training. Lastly, but not least, LIVE WHAT YOU SAY IN FRONT OF THEM! Anyone who doesn't live what they say in front of their children is hypocritical and can have a lasting, damaging spiritual effect on a child's spiritual development. Don't merely make you example "moral". Live what your faith says is correct in the Word, for every one of us is going to have to give an account of ourselves to God for "every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God".

I guess it depends if you want to teach him about relilgion or spirituality..for they are very different. For religion I guess the Bible and dogma of the different types..spirituality is easier for it is within yourself and yet also all around us such as in nature, etc. I taught my kids religion while they were young as I didnt understand spirituality then..but I wish I would have known for I find it is so much more than what the Bible teaches or a minister.

i'm a Muslim, yet we are taught that Jesus (would peace and Gods advantages be upon him) preached, and everywhere that 2 or more effective human beings accrued contained in the call of Allah (for sure contained in the Bible God supplies a distinct call) replaced into considered a church. for sure there have been places special for worship, which may be considered what we now call churches. we also are taught that Jesus (mpagbbuh) replaced into given sacred scriptures (the former testomony) so I imagine his followers examine those aloud or quietly, yet I doubt he examine those out loud himself, he likely had them memorized.
