A lot of large churches are so focused on themselves, their congregations, and money that they've lost focus of the mission of Christ. Not all of them, mind you, but a lot of them. What could/should be done about it?

SARCASTIC, HARMFUL AND DEGRADING ANSWERS WILL BE DELETED. I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT POINTS.

Thank you! :)

If it was, and yet Adam and Eve chose to sin despite already having all their needs met, is it possible that people in heaven will still occasionally sin, and therefore hevaen will be corrupted like earth was?

Or, if it wasn't as nice as heaven will be, why didn't God make it that perfect so we'd never have a need to sin?

Seek the Spiritual, not the material. This is not a new age philosophy, it's as old as humankind. And I found it to be the best advice ever given to me.

Contrary to some opinions. I have found,
Peace and Love

God Bless
May the Force be with you
Shalom
Shalam
His Peace I Leave You

My Hope is that everyone, if you haven't as yet, can!!

Isn't unleashing an arsenal of evils on a world of unsuspecting, helpless victims, and then promising to make up for it in some illusive afterlife sort of like a deadbeat dad giving his kid a black eye and then promising to take him to Disneyland to make up for it? Isn't killing your disobedient children with death a little too strict anyway? If you were a father on earth, Child Protective Services and the law would be all over you! Not to mention, I just can't figure out why you created debilitating diseases like Spina Bifida, Caudal Regression Syndrome, Cancer, Diabetes, the Diptheria germ, Muscular Dystrophy, and Scleroderma (to name just a few of the many life-altering, death-causing, sin-cursing diseases and conditions you so gracefully sent our way). I also scratch my head wondering why you included in mankind's curse, the animal kingdom? If indeed we are not animals, why must they suffer and die?

I can assure you that anyone who is a true Christian has questioned their faith many times throughout their life, especially during the times they considered to be rough on them. I've no idea where folks from other religions and atheists get the notion that we were brainwashed to believe and never bothered to look our life over and question our beliefs. Most of us do so on a somewhat regular basis, but at the end of the day we determine that God is simply testing our faith in him, as it plainly shows he will do from time to time in the bible.

Maybe you allowed evil to enter into the world to teach us lessons about life, but that doesn't really work either because you are omnipotent and could have taught man every lesson he ever needed to know a thousand different ways. You could even have made souls born with this knowledge. Maybe you allowed evil to dominate the world to show us the love of salvation in the afterlife, but then that's sort of creating a problem to solve it, don't you think? Why not just show us love in the afterlife in the first place? Why bother with this material world business anyway since heaven and spirituality have been the real deal all along?

If they say 'Oh, god!', aren't they breaking the Second Commandment?

Or do they just lay on top of each other, move a little bit and say: 'Thank you, that was splendid. I hope you conceive soon and bring glory unto the lord'?

I don't understand many of the firm christian beleifs like, "animals don't ahve souls", but they beleive that god created the animals, so how could they not believe that they have souls? Is there anyone out there who puzzles over these same questions and finds themselves "debating" about them?

Agnostic here, not trying to convert anyone.

Hypothetical, does the First Amendment in America guarentte my right to freedom of religious speech, could I print out pamphlets that say "If you don't believe in Sean as God then you burn in a firery pit off marinara sauce after you die" and go and hang them out on street corners and knock on doors to hand them out?

More than likely, do you think intelligent people would close the door on me?

Would anyone say to me "what the heck are you doing man, what empirical evidence do you have that Sean is God?"

If the number of Sean is God followers was 10 million, would that make a difference? How about 1 billion.

There are 1 billion plus people who believe someone named Jesus is God. Some of these followers knock on doors and hand out pamphets. Some of us close the door. Do any of us stop and ask what empirical evidence do you have that Jesus is God?

In John 4:1 where we are told to test a religion before we join.
How did you investigate the watchtower society before you joined it?
Did you read books both for and against the society to help judge it accurately?
Had you read the Bible in its entirety?
If the context of a verse is ignored, people can prove anything they wish from it. To prevent this problem, did you read the Bible passages found in the Watchtower plublications in context to make sure they were applied accuratly?
Were you acquanted with the teaching of any other church groups before you began to study with the witnesses?
What was the process that you used to test the watchtower organization before you joined?
Have you ever checked the quotations the Society uses from other sources to see wether or not they are taken out of context?
And do you think i'm right to use this process to check out the organisation?
Do you think i make an important point about 1 John 4:1?

If one must be tempted to sin, and Adam and Eve had to have Satan to sin, then who tempted Satan? If there was no sin in heaven, and yet an angel chose to become evil, what will prevent the same thing from happening to us when we get there? If sin can just "pop up" when and where there is none, what are we to do if we make the wrong choices in heaven, or perhaps succomb to some overwhelming sense of lofty heavenly pride?

If you were concerned with allowing man freewill in the garden, why couldn't you have simply allowed Adam and Eve to exist without knowing evil, and what they didn't know, they wouldn't have chosen, would they? So freewill was never even an issue. You don't need the presence of evil to have freewill.

This brings up another question. How could Satan fall from grace in a sinless environment?

see Genesis 3:1-7

also....

Since you created all things and only things good (2 Chronicles 19:7; James 1:12), from whence cometh Satan? If Satan always existed as an evil co-deity with you, then you are not omnipotent because in that case, you would not be the only eternal deity. If you created Satan to become evil, then you violated your own word by creating an evil thing, when supposedly, you cannot break or contradict your word (Titus 1:2; John 10:35). If Satan was originally created as an angel and later fell from grace, then why did you create a being that you knew would fall away?
