Just a corollary to this question:

The answers should, in theory, be similar.

If marriage - and having children as a result of that marriage - is a sacred duty, why not use Jesus's birth as an example of that? Why, in fact, show us that the 'one sinless human' did _not_ come about as a result of holy matrimony? Was God trying to tell us that the union of husband and wife in inadequate to produce a 'sinless' human?

After all, if God can just create a foetus in a virgin's womb, certainly God could let a human sperm and a human ovum unite in the good old-fashioned way and, after that, imbue the result with divinity, couldn't He?

And wouldn't it send a more positive message about the sanctity of marriage?

when you see a clock you need no proof to know that there was a wise designer and maker behind that clock, now in a greater scale look at all the order in the universe , coming and giong of seasons, day and night, rain cycle... the way our body works, hormones and.... ... ...
how can you say "oh it was all accidental" ,
the probability that it all is accidental is 0 (if you have studied probability in the mathematics)
why do you want to base your life in 0 probability??.

I'm a Buddhist...........this is why i believe?

1. Buddhist believe in Karma & Reincarnation(Cause & Effect)
2. Our next life is determined from the things we do in this life(Good, Bad)
3. We try to find the ultimate freedom by purifying our mind from any bad thoughts....and by gaining ultimate wisdom...and achieve Nirvana
4. We achieve this by Meditation
5. Our religion never shed blood in the name of religion
6. We believe every living things has the same right to live and our religion is opposed to killing of any living being(Animals, insects)
7. We don’t believe that god can bring us happiness or ultimate wisdom...........it’s our mind which can achieve anything....so we don’t worship GOD
8. We believe there is heavens and many other worlds
They don’t have any power on us they are worlds like us but only higher than us
9. When we die we go there according to our Karma

Personally, I don't really have much faith that anything happens to us after we die. It seems to me that the highest probability is that the electrical signals in our brain dissipate, the chemical messages stored in our brain cells decompose, and who we are fades away as our bodies slowly become fuel energy for other forms of life along the food chain.

Now, I'm not saying that I _like_ this, or _want_ this. I'd be happy to go play a harp on a cloud or be reincarnated or whatever it is. I mean, why not? I like life.

But what I want has no effect on how things are.

My question is this: if you believe in an afterlife, is there any possibility that at least part of your belief is founded on the idea that you don't want to contemplate the alternative?

Only reasoned rational ones...

The question is ...

If as many say Islam is all peace and its only the odd few crims that cause all the trouble.

Then explain all the supported islamic revolutions and voting in perminantly of non secular islaimic govenrments intent on imposing sharia law for things such as

Homosexaulity.

Where gays are murdered/executed for gy actitvity which is good as harmed nobody and gays are usually nice to people therefore logically good people. There is no local reasoning for this as gays often bring bgreat benefits to society with high skills in creativity.

I believe that the best way to pray is to help people in need. This is the best prayer. Do we need to pray in a religious way as defined by the traditional religions? Do we need to go to church, mosque or temple to pray?

Serious answers only please...

Do you have a moral code? If so, where do you think it comes from? Look at all of the terrible things that people do. Look at some of the negative attitudes on this website.

If we all were created by some kind of large-scale cosmic accident, with no higher power, wouldn't our only instincts be things such as eat or be eaten? Just because we have bigger brains than the animals does not mean that we would automatically develop compassion for others and common decency.

I don't think that people, by themselves, would "evolve" into kinder people. If anything, they would become more and more agressive, dangerous, and self-centered. I'm not saying our world is perfect, but people have never cared about human rights as much as we do now.

Do you really think that we would have love, respect, decency, and justice without a God to teach it to us? I don't have enough faith in man for that.
