Revelation 19:14-16
14And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

How do you feel about churches working together instead of fighting and criticizing each other? Most churches think they are God's chosen few. This is unrecognized Satanic influence. With the world situation, Christianity won't survive unless we put aside our petty religious differences and work together.

How can it be that in the year 2006, the awesome scientific age we live in, can people still have such dark age views, like believing in supernatural beings???? It blows my mind. I just can't believe so many people were duped into a story so full of holes?? WOW! How did it happen? It must be the biggest scam of all time.

I've read quite a bit of the Bible, but I seem to remember the only unforgivable sin being blasphemy. Jesus died for all of my sins, not just the ones I have committed, but for every sin I am every going to commit. I can't imagine that telling someone at the end of their rope, wanting to commit suicide, that they are going to go to hell when the trigger is pulled...I just can't seem to imagine that that would help them out in that situation.

Imagine this: I just committed some random sin, and then I die immediately afterwards. I fail to understand how this is different than had I committed suicide in the midst of some bad spot in my life. Of course, this is assuming that "I" am saved (which I am).

Does the first amendment protect the rights of those Christian churches to marry people of the same gender?

Does this fact alone coupled with the first amendment completely decimiate the anti-gay marriage movement in America?

I ask again, has the sky falled in any nation or state where there is same sex marriage (or civil union)?

If the sky hasn't fallen, why hasn't it fallen?

In Genesis chapter 18 the sky reigned with fire from the God because of the wickedness of Sodom.
Did that really happen, or is that just a made up lie to try and control people?

Is this really about love of God and love of the Bible and love of a passage that says homosexuals won't get into heaven (lev 18:22, romans 1:24-27, 1 corinthians 6:9, rev 15:22); or is it about bigotry?

Does anything embarras the religious right more than this? Do they feel any shame?

Isaiah 65:11

But you men are those leaving YHWH, those forgetting my holy mountain, those setting in order a table for the god of Good Luck and those filling up mixed wine for the god of Destiny.

I'm not convinced that God changed.

Are we just driven by a need to be right, or a need to convert people?

When Christians say that gay marriage should be illegal due to their religious beliefs and quotes from the Bible, they are imposing their religion on the entire nation. This takes Freedom of Religion away from others.

How?

Simple - because not everyone in the nation is the same religion. Freedom of Religion is one of the main foundations of our country. If the Church had a decision in law making, it would impose that specific religion on the entire nation - that is unconstitutional.

(Yes I already posted this but in a different catagory!!)

So my sister watched V for Vendetta and claimed that she did not like it at all because it was "blatently anti-christian". She said it promotes Anarchy and she did not agree with it at all and she and her boyfriend could not watch it. I want to know what some other Christians think. I'm not Christian, I don't claim any religion at all but I know a good deal about it and most other religions (I've made a point to study them to find my own). So I see it as a warning to not allow our government to gain too much control.

It's not about promoting anarchy, it's about promoting freedom of speech and beliefs, and to not allow ourself to be put so far under the microscope. Maybe I'm wrong, but whether or not she likes it, in school her daughter will read "A Brave New World" "Farenheit 451" and "Anthem".....they are all the same thing. I really think she just read too far into it!

Agnostic here, not trying to convert anyone.

Someone stated in an earlier question that "the world is less violent because of Jesus Christ" paraphrasing.

George Bush said Jesus was his favorite philospher.
We are fighting wars against "evil-doers".
Why aren't we praying for an enemy and turning the other cheek and having peace talks with the enemy?
Why is it "You are either with us or against us"

Is the world a less violent place because of Jesus?

Onward Christian solider, off to Iraq and the gates of hell.

Not Christian bashing, not military bashing either, was in for four years and I love my military brothers and sisters, I just want peace and not war.

Jesus said, "come not to bring peace". Why?

I think all of humanity would be FAR better off knowing that there is NO magical candy-land after we die. Because that childish notion, more than any other idea, has held humanity back from achieving peace and happiness in this world. There can be no doubt about this.
People sit on thier behinds and do nothing, bemoaning thier lot in life, but instead of working to make thier lives better, they wait for death. Because of course, the "afterlife" will be better than the lives they are leading. Forgetting of course that they are the sole cause of thier own misery.
So let's agree to act (even if you do believe in an afterlife) that there is NO afterlife. No magic candy-land, not Narnia in the wardrobe. Ok?
If you act like this is the ONLY shot you have then maybe, just maybe we can imporve this little planet we all share and make it better for not only ourselves, but our neighbors and children too.
What do you think?

A parent takes a loaded handgun, and places it in the middle of the floor of his child's room. The parent then hides in the child's closet, leaving the door open just a crack to see what happens.
The child wanders into his room. He is just five years old -- a complete innocent. His parent has told him once to stay away from guns, but he is too young to fully appreciate how deadly they can be. Curious, the child picks up the gun and begins playing with it. The parent remains hidden in the closet -- taking no action, not saying a word. Suddenly, a shot rings out, followed by a tiny "thump" as the child's body crumples to the floor.

Who's to blame?

Now, substitute "the child's room" with "the Garden of Eden"...

Substitute "handgun" with "the Tree of Knowledge"...

Substitute "parent" with "God"...

Substitute "five year old child" with "Adam and Eve"...

Sometimes I feel like the compassion and friendliness of some Christians is not sincere, and that they do it more out of obligation (to try to be like Jesus). I do not believe in doing anything without sincerity, because it loses its meaning. What do you think?
