Evolution is a scientific theory. In science, the word "theory" carries more weight and significance than in does when used in other non-scientific contexts. A scientific theory is considered the best known explanation for a set of events. So, in science, the word theory is close to being synonomous with the word fact, because it is considering the BEST explanation, not just one of many. Evolution is considered by science to be the best explanation for the emergence and divergence of all the various species of life on earth. Science doesn't entertain multiple theories for the same set of events; it sticks with one theory at a time for each set of events, unless and until a better theory is put forth that does a better job of explaining the events.
Religion is not science and never will be science. It has no place in a science class.

All public schools have to teach evolution, so you must be going to a private school. Evolution happends all the time, mirobes evolve and adapt to their enviornment either to promote a gene or to suppress a gene, that is all evolution is, we can see it in a laboratory so there is no reason not to teach it, at least ona a micro level and then say if it happends on a micro level than it is possible on a macro level.

They don't want to teach it because it is a THEORY, and not science. Same thing with the Creation in the eyes of lots of people. Therefore, because they want "proof" instead of faith and etc. they cannot find a way to accurately teach either method, so they exclude them both.

Most schools (and in particular, most science teachers) DO want to teach evolution; it's the wacko parents' groups and "Jesus Freaks" who are trying to abolish critical thinking!
It'll become REALLY apparent when they start going after the "theory" of gravity next! ("'Intelligent Falling' deserves equal time! Teach the controversy!")

They are scared of creationists. Or they don't understand evolution. Or is there a law in your state that schools can't teach evolution. That's unconstitutional.

Because the religious right seems to think that the Founding Fathers didn't really mean what they said about religion and government. They seem to think that this is a theocracy, and they can make whatever laws they want, even if they're based in faith not fact.

Because Christian parents don't want their children to go astray in their brainwashed teachings. I think, they should teach evolution in many perspectives...I mean face it! There is evidence!

There are too many opposing opinions and beliefs on the subject, making it not practical to include it in a school class, but rather to leave it for parents to instruct their own children.
