Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Everything else is in civilized stupidity.

Old Testament, but don't stop Christians from telling you that the Old Testmanet is all fake and the stuff there is outdated and doesn't really mean anything.

Like the entire women not allowed in Church, or a woman not being able to see man while shes mestruating, or how a man can take any woman a man owns that he wants for himself if he was wronged by another man.

Only look at the parts about piercings, tattoos and swearing. That's still right. The rest is all balony!

Well, here's one verse, though I think you're actually talking about saying bad words rather than swearing. This is James 5:12
But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

Matthew 12:36 says:
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

It doesn't God is not offended by our words. Words are merely an outward Sign of what is in our heart. "But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' "Matthew 15:18 (New International Version))

Sometimes, it's better to be honest about what is in your heart just let `er rip! This is best done when you are alone with God, so that you don't scare your parents, friends, or the dog. God will not be put off by your attempt to express your anger or frustration and your words will not insult Him, because he already knows what is brewing in your heart, so get it out.

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."
(Psalm 19:14)

"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship )in spirit and truth." (John 4:24 (New American Standard Bible))

It's the truth part that God wants from us, not our pretending.

Now, if you are addressing another person, then it's best to choose your words more wisely. "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." (Colossi ans 4:6 (New International Version))

You can always ask God for wisdom to know how to talk. (Recommended)
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5 (New International Version))

If you are referring to obscenities its says in the Ten Commandments not to blaspheme. That means you cannot say things like "goddamn" or "Jesus H. Christ!" However, words like "F*ck" or "Sh*t" are not addressed.

However many Jehovas Witnesses wont swear on a bible in a courtroom because it says somewhere in the bible not to make oaths other than to the Lord.

I am an Atheist, but I know my Bible.

is say swearing you should not do is in
Matthew 5:34-37. -

"But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool' or by Jerusalem, for it it the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No', 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one."

Swearing is cursing----cursing a person or thing. It is all over the Old and New Testaments. Only God has the right to curse. I am not talking about words alone, but how they are applied. You can curse a person without using cuss words. This is sinful because it is a sign of hatred and judgment.

It is part of the Ten Commandments.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told us to "swear not at all".

"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. " Swearing is using God's name to verify the truths of your statements.
Cursing is calling upon God to bring harm to someone.
Cussing is just using bad words and I don't know if it's in the bible.
