RNA and its components are difficult to synthesize in a laboratory under the best of conditions, much less under really plausible ones. Even if we suppose that it formed by chance, how could this RNA consisting of just a nucleotide chain have "decided" to self-replicate and with what kind of a mechanism could it have carried out this self-replicating process? Where did it find the nucleotides it used while self-replicating?

I think scientology gives Science a bad name. With Science you can prove things, and I thought that's what the religion was. But your "leader" saying he remembers when he ruled as another self thousands of years ago.. How can you believe that..? You definantaly cannot prove that! Not trying to diss your religion, I'm just very curious.. And is it true you are hypnotized and brainwashed first?

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

I am an agnostic (that is, i neither know nor really care if god really exists). when involved in a religious discussion with christians, they almost always resort to quoting from the bible as some sort of proof of their argument. to me, that would be like quoting from a book of greek or roman or norse (or any other) book of mythology to prove the existance of their deities. if i don't believe in your god how is throwing quotes from your book about him going to sway me. what do i care what your god said if i don't believe in its existance, or even care if it exists? how does quoting from a book i consider as reliable as a Seussian nonsense poem help convince me your argument is sound? present your argument without quoting from the bible - if you can - and i will listen. i may still be skeptical when you are done, but at least i will kave learned more about your views on god than any specious book could teach me, and i will respect you and your opinions all the more.

My friend (who is a Sunnite) was expaining it to me, but I got a little confused. Plus, she was a little condescending, so I didn't want to ask her again. All I got from her was that dogs are dirty, and if one licked your hand, you had to wash it 7 times. And if some saliva got on your clothes, you had to burn them. But having a German Shepard for a guard dog is okay. Can someone please explain?

Scientific Acceptability of Rebirth — Dr. Granville Dharmawardena.
Dr. Dharmawardena points out that the reason why classical science cannot explain rebirth is due to inherent limitations in classical science. Modern science has transcended these limitations, and therefore rebirth is within the scope of modern science. Modern science accepts rebirth as a scientifically acceptable phenomenon through the same tests used to prove scientific acceptability of generally accepted modern science phenomena.

I would like your personal feelings about seeing millions thrown in a lake of fire to be tormented and tortured for eternity. (hell). Will this bring you joy? Will this glorify God? Will you be smug and satisfied? Will any of these be in your own family? Could any of them be your children? Or your parents? Does this make Christ victorious? I don't want any scripture, just want your true feelings. I want to hear whats in your heart.

In Acts 2:27 and 2:31 the King James Version seems to indicate that at His death, Jesus went to hell. Other versions have the word "Hades" in place of hell. Are hell and hades the same place?

There is a great deal of difference between hades and hell, although in 1611 when the King James Version was translated, "hell" was probably as good a concept as English would allow for the word "hades." By this we mean that the "unseen" world would have best been represented by the word "hell" in 1611.

But the facts are that hades and hell are two different places according to the Scriptures, and a distinction should be drawn between them.

I believe that people who have not accepted Christ have something like " blinders" on their hearts and minds. I think that when people accept Christ, the "blinder" comes off and we are able to see clearly things that other can't see, like things that people are accepting we can see that it comes straight from satan. And you tell a disbeliever something like that and they will never understand what you are coming from. But, if you tell a fellow christian, they too, see what you see. Did I explain that right? What are your thoughts on this? Oh and I also think that some people who have accepted Christ still have blinders on sometimes. So, I guess it is only certain people who see clearly! Oh, well, I am having a hard time explaining this, anyone want to help me out!!?

In detachment, do you find you loose your zest? You fun side as well as your sad side? I am very interested in this, and have read some really great books. But in detachment, do you miss out on joy and 'geting down' when a good tune comes on (for one example)?

As always, please read the entire question, and answer like respectful adults. Thank you!

For those of you who believe in a "heaven" or afterlife:
Would you forego your heavenly rewards to return to this earth in an effort to continue working towards teaching your beliefs to non-believers, and redeeming the people that you consider "lost" or "fallen"?

Put more simply - so many people live their lives "un-saved". After you die, if given the opportunity, would you choose to return to earth to continue trying to save them?

This is a HYPOTHETICAL situation. Please refrain from answers containing things like "The Bible says it doesn't work like that". That is what "hypothetical" means. It means that it's a situation that most likely doesn't happen, but if it DID, how would you respond?

So many christians have told me to read my bible but I don't have one. I must admit I don't want one either it sounds like one of the most boring fiction books of all time. This guy walks around doing magic pretending to be the son of god oh dear he's dead. Oh wait oh no he isn't. Oh he's dead now. How boring does that book sound? Who else doesn't have a bible and doesn't want one?
