A Christmas gift FOR my ex from our children?

My friend shops with her kids and buys the gift for her ex husband and he does the same.

Is that the best practice?

Hi, my ex's bday was on Oct. 23rd and I was going to send him Da Vinci Code (a book he had always wanted to read) as a friendly gift and bday greeting. But then I asked for advice and people said not to. Now, I regret not sending it b/c it makes me come across rude. We went out for almost 4 years and there should be some amicable ground. Now that it's almost xmas, i want to send this gift as a belated bday gift and xmas gift. I don't want to regret this for the rest of my life. I know he is gone, and will not come back. I want to send him this gift and never look back, as a way to close this chapter of my life. I plan to say "Merry xmas and happy belated bday. Sorry I couldn't greet u on ur last bday due to the predicament. I meant to send this to u on ur bday. Hope everything goes well in all your future endeavors. Happy holidays. Best wishes."
Should I leave out "i meant to send this to u on ur bday"?

I am really offended! My neighbor told me that our neighborhood looked like a “cheap trailer park” because of a Nativity scene I put up. I couldn’t believe it. I think there may be grounds for a discrimination lawsuit against him as well. I am really hurt because I love Christmas so much!

I haven’t put my Nativity scene up this year because of this neighbor. I put my nativity scene up during the month of November 2006. It was so cold outside that I couldn’t remove it until Memorial Day of this year. (I live in San Francisco and the temperatures are frigid!)

He told me in April that it was time “to take down the Christmas stuff.” In May, he said the scene made our neighborhood “look like trailer trash.” I couldn’t believe he is so against Christmas!

How do you deal with difficult neighbors like this?

does that make you look like you're trying so hard?
What does that make you look in your boss's eyes..do they like that or not?
Recently I did a task for my boss that he never asked of me and I thought if I did it, he would be pleased..still no feedback from him yet..what do you think, will he appreciate it?

We already talked to the landlord about when they come home at 10 pm and play music and talk loudly and slam kitching cabinets. He said he talked to them, but last night they were extremely loud.
I called the police at 11 pm and they came and talked to my neighbors.
Did I do the right thing??
Do you think this will solve the problem??

I work for a pediatric hospital in a division of sub-specialty doctors. You would think they would have enough money to buy whatever they may need. One of our most "respected" doctors always takes food that does not belong to her. Leftovers in the fridge, someone elses unopened drink, whatever. However, this morning was the topper. A girl on our administrative staff brought in 2 tins of butter cookies for everyone to share. Around 8:00 she went back to get a cookie and noticed one of the tins were gone. There were only about 4 people in the office at this point, not enough time for them to be gone. When we started looking, we looked in this particular doctors office and found the tin of cookies hiding behind her briefcase. What would you do? We have tried posting notes around saying not to take other peoples food or food meant for everyone and have even sent out emails.

I think that girls don't fart due to evolutionary reasons.

In the caveman days there were 2 types of girls - farting and non-farting.

But the farting ones turned men off too much, so they never reproduced. So their farting DNA was not passed on.

The non-farting ones did attract men, reproduced, so passed on their non-farting DNA.

It's survival of the fittest/non-fartiest.

Due to an ending friendship with one of the employees in my office, it has turned most of them against me. This mostly has to due with the fact that younger ladies, girls, seem to love to pretend they're still in high school and form cliques and start rumors and such. I really only have three main friends within our Firm and only one of them is attending. How bad does it look if I do not attend. And how many of you suggest that I should attend? The party is tonight after work so please let me know what you think.

As far as things I've read or seen from others, it seems as though I will go through this the rest of my life with most, if not all women, it's not just younger females in their twenties. That's really sad.

I tend to sing along to any music I hear. Not really sure why, its just something I do. I tend to sign quite quietly if there are other people around.

I was just wondering do other people find it annoying when people sing along to music? I don't at all, I think it's good, but I'd like to know if people get annoyed by it, as I might have to stop doing it :)

I have been cheating with a girl from my office for 2 months now. Once a week we get together at her home and i am given a slice of heaven. much more interesting than the usual run of the mill lights out at the Bateman household.

I asked to indulge in alittle light hearted anal pleasure and she replied by telling me that she would only if i let her put a strap on and she returned the "favour".

I am unclear as to how i should feel. It seems cute & sexy if i do it to her but not the other way around.

To have the big brown sleeping monster in my rectal cavity awoken in such a rude way seems to be tempting a messy conclusion to my happy hour.

I feel guilty for juging the request but should i fold?

A work colleague/friend of mine & I both decided to have an Xmas night out together (theatre), the 2 of us, after work (I've been temping at this company ad hoc for 3 years). I was ready to book the tickets the next day when the next morning, she came in to say she'd been invited with 'other the girls downstairs' (other secretaries) to a meal & that I was also invited too. Initially, I thought it unfair, as we'd agreed to go to the theatre, but afterwards I agreed to go along too, provided the lady who was organising it came to ask me herself, as I didn't want to hear of this meal second hand (and the lady did ask me). The problem is I have now finished this temporary booking (secretarial) before the Xmas meal arrangements had been finalised and am now working elsewhere and I've not heard a thing from anyone in that company about this meal out, even though they have my contact details and I myself have emailed to ask if I'm not too late to come along. What do you think?

This couple from my gym(good acquiantances, the guy is 30,the girl is 23).He said that they want to invite me out with them.I'm one of the only ones that know they are a couple there, but what is the motive here?I'm just fairly good acquiantances with them.I dunno if he's pissed at me for something or what.Or is he just being nice?I know i'm being paranoid, but why would people who barely know you(save for the gym)want to all of a sudden invite you out. I just told him i've been busy lately and we'll grab numbers sometime and maybe down the road.Again am i being paranoid?I've formed many relationships in the past where i thought things were solid but i ended up having differences with the person. What is the motive here?

So I've never waitressed with food before, I've cocktailed at bars but only drinks. I just got a job at a family owned and operated Italian restaurant (it's middle of the road; not cheap but not a suit-and-tie place).

This as my second night and I almost wanted to quit. I was trained by one girl last night and another guy tonight--they both were telling me different ways to do things, not really showing me the procedure for things (it was busy so they were basically doing everything on their own without teaching me, but it's ALWAYS busy....so uh...when will I learn???)
Also, the owner is the bartender and if I have a drink order it takes her at least 20 minutes (unless she forgets completely) because she's talking with her friends or on the phone, so the customers end up frustrated.

I'm a very organized and detail oriented person and don't like disappointing people, especially people who are paying a lot of money to have a special dinner with their bf/gf.

My fiancé and I were both at home about to have dinner, when there was a knock on our door. A young female motorist had just hit a deer, killing it, just a ways down the road. She asked for a ride, to the casino which is in the opposite direction, she needed a place to be while she waited for a ride from her family but didn't want to be an imposition to us while she waited. It's just 5 min, away, no problem. She told me the story and this is where the question comes from. She was in a long train of cars and the deer picked hers to cross in front of; the guy directly behind her had to swerve to avoid missing her. She was noticeably shaken up from killing the innocent deer but I think she was more hurt by the fact the guy behind her and all the consecutive ones, cared nothing about her. I'm glad she picked our house so somebody could show her some kindness. What would you have done if you were the car behind her or in my position?
