My future in-laws have invited me on vacation with the family during the first week of December to Orlando, FL.

This will be my first trip to Florida and I'm anxious to go. However, I want to get my in-law something as a thank you gift for inviting me and for also paying for my flight AND letting me stay at their condo.

I'm not sure what I could get them as they are very wealthy people and whatever they want, they buy themselves. I'm very intimidated by them and want to make sure I leave a good impression.

I know I can't buy wine or alcohol as they don't drink, and I can't buy flowers as they are allergic to a lot, too.

So does anyone have suggestions? Also should I give the thank-you gift before or after the trip?

I'm organizing a talk for college students, I need some ideas for some low-budget snacks that can be offered afterwards. Refreshments should require minimum effort to serve!

up at my barn there is a border that has breast cancer. she gets chemo every 3 weeks. very sweet women. it is very important she stays healthy. there is another border that gave her horse strangles...which is a live vaccenie. there was no reason for this person to give her horse this. it would be very bad if this person breathed in that. do u think it was rude for the women to do this?

I was at a steakhouse yesterday and I decided to try something different - I would eat steak with my hands. No fork, no napkin. It really made it so much more enjoyable. You actually feel the meat and grease in your hands and in your mouth. Apparently, people complained and the restaurant refused service to me. Who was being rude her? Why do people have to look at me when I'm eating?

I have a problem with my cousin and her roommate constantly using their cell phones at the dinner table (both at home and in restaraunts). We usually have dinner together 4-5 nights a week. We have discussed that it is rude and I have point blank said "Tell him you will call him back, that you are out to dinner with people". Now if I say something, my cousin (30 years old, not a kid) makes a smart remark.

We try to be considerate by lowering our voices or stopping the conversation during their calls. It's not that I am against cells, I have one myself. However, there has to be a limit. We have gone for a hour (the entire dinner) with her on the phone and now her roommate has a boyfriend that calls from his work and she is either on the phone or it is beeping and she texts him back all through dinner.

How do we get the point across without alienating them?

3 years ago a member my boyfriend's family was killed in a car accident. Last night, one of the families that was most helpful and supportive (that of a girl my boyfriend and I have been friends with growing up) lost a child in their family from a car accident. This friend and her family truly were compasionate and caring during my boyfriend's family's time of need, they even comforted me when I felt that I just couldn't be strong for my boyfriend anymore. I intend to return the kindness by doing anything I can for them at this hard time. I know that they will need meals and snacks, help with little things around the house, and a shoulder to cry on, but when they were lending their hand things were such a blur and I can't think of other things that will help them out. I would really appreciate any thoughts or ideas of what I can to do better help their family. I want to show them that, like they were there for others, I am there for them.

I just got off a job interview with a person applying to our company and I found her cute and interesting. Do you think it would be okay to ask her out for a drink or something ?

Not really too sure if we're getting her so what do you think should I do ?

I'm starting to get tired of these rude people who use their cell phones at the most inopportune time. Being on the phone while trying to conduct buisness like at a cash register. Or being in the middle of a conversation with someone and picking up the cell to talk to another. And I especially hate people who talk on phones while driving. A few days ago I was almost T-boned at an intersection because the guy was on his phone and didn't notice his RED light. It was pure luck that I happen to look over and see him. And he never even got off the cell phone! I just want to know why you do it. Why be on the cell phone at such bad times?

Im often told Im over sensitive... And maybe I am .... But there's one thing in particular that if I see or hear I find genuinely offensive...

I'm not going to say what it is at the moment, what I'd like to know, really so I can see if I am over the top or one of many...

What thing offends you..But please keep it suitable for the eyes of anyone who reads this!!

I'm in desperate need for money and the two most expense things I have are my engagement ring and a necklace that my fiance gave me. They are both worth a lot of money, and I was thinking of pawning the necklace for a while and getting it back without telling him. Is it a good idea? I mean I'm dead broke and can't pay my car payment.

Today at work, we had a meeting in which our district manager came in from his office across town to talk to us about various things going on in the organization. At one point, he said something along the lines of: "I really want to go through with this, but I'm afraid that, at the moment, my equipment isn't up to the task."

I almost wanted to stand up and say, "That's what SHE said!" But alas, I didn't.

I told a co-worker about this, and he thought it was hilarious. It's probably best that I didn't say it, though. If I had, I would probably working on my resume instead of tooling around on Yahoo Answers.
