Im often told Im over sensitive... And maybe I am .... But there's one thing in particular that if I see or hear I find genuinely offensive...
I'm not going to say what it is at the moment, what I'd like to know, really so I can see if I am over the top or one of many...
What thing offends you..But please keep it suitable for the eyes of anyone who reads this!!
Let me know..
Thanks..

Ok, well mine is really a sexism issue..
a guy in the next office to me has to make telephone calls as part of his job..
the men he calls 'sir or Mr...' the women he calls 'love or dear' now...I know that seems silly maybe, but his whole demeanor is that off an old sargent major (which, he is!!) where women really are just silly little things... I in particular, as theonly women at work, never am able to assist him in anything, as its 'mans things dear, you'll get confused!!' It really irritates me, in 2007, that women can be even thought of anything other than equal..

For traveller:
I dont so much eavesdrop..Though, yes being able to switch my hearing off would make things more bearable, but when the man is talking at the top of his voice..There really isnt much need for listening in.. and also, as I said, when he says things directly to me.. I again cannot just ignore...
But thank you for your point.. You are being slightly sexist in the assumption that if I 'liked' him it would be different!

Nope... I am a woman of equality..My boyfriend is terrified of spiders..I do like to treated with manners and courtesey.. But not just by him, by everyone.. I afford others the same in return. If there is a 'heavy box' around I will life it if I am strong enough..
Why do negative answers all entail the sentance..that i think im perfect..
I in no way think i am anywhere near to such a state. Norr do i claim to be..
My point was offence..everyone has something they are offended by.. On the same note, there are those who answer questions purely to argue with someone...

I hate when people I don't know call me "my friend" when talking to me.
Once or twice in shops, the people serving me, seem to think they need to shout to me and treat me like an imbecile because I walk with a stick! I really feel sorry for folk in wheelchairs cos they don't even look at them and direct any conversation to the person with them.
That's offensive!
Not long ago, I was getting into a taxi and the driver came out to make sure I managed in alright as I walk with a stick. Just before I got in, he patted me on the head and called me honeypie!
That was funny!

Will you be telling us what your one 'thing' is?
Mine is the ignorant! People that plow into a debate or conversation with little or no understanding of the background on the subject! And when is a sensitive subject say, on religion or race for example, some people just say the first thing that comes to their uneducated head...
I don't mind talking to anyone... I talk to a lot of people for a living, I can talk about anything for hours... some subject with authority, some without. I'm not against anyone talking about anything, but I would much prefer for someone to admit that they are not as well informed in a certain area rather than try and 'blagg' it and end up making a fool of themselves!

People who are oversensitive and take offense to small things offend me.
It doesn't make a bit of difference what that old guy says on the phone. Relax. People are people and have different pluses an different minuses. I am sure you aren't perfect and have your own double-standards in life. I bet you "still like to be treated like a lady" and I bet you call your husband or boyfriend to kill the bugs and lift the heavy boxes. So a little bit of sexism is everywhere......
Don't be so "offended" -- you'll realize that getting offended is more of a choice than a natural reaction.

1. What I find offensive is when people sugar-coat or water down the truth. That is the same as lying! They make things sound better than it is to protect their own egos. When something is good on their life, they will brag to no end. When someting is bad, they cover it up as much as they can. Very dishonest.
2. What else I find offensive is putting other people on a pedal stool. When they make a big deal out of someone or something, their tone changes or they widen their eyes. Big deal! I feel like slapping their faces.

OK, I'll not answer your question, but comment on your "profile" about yourself and your added detail of what offends you.
I like your profile, almost exactly the same as what I had at one time here. I think you ARE being overly sensitive, or actually male bashing in what offends you. If you truly want people to get along and live together, why not stop eavesdropping (no matter what you call it, that's what it is) on your co-worker and let him handle his phone calls and contacts as he wishes. If the female parties he is talking to are offended, then THEY should complain. Imaginary "Cotton in your ears" would make your work place more pleasant for you. I wonder if you'd be so offended if you either liked the man, or if it was a woman using some sort of "offensive" language as far as playing up her sexuality? Just a thought, hopefully you won't take this as argumentative, I don't mean it that way.

It really bugs me when someone won't take the blame for anything. There's always an excuse. Always someone else's fault.
There's a certain person I know who says "praise God" at the end of every other sentence. Still, he will lie to me with a straight face. Then, when I find out about the lie, he will find a way to make it seem like the truth. And then, if you go to the person whom he lied about, you find that nothing the guy told you was even remotely like the truth.

Women who play the 'timid, shy, butter wouldn't melt in the mouth'games when men are around - then in the company of women the swear like troopers, have more graphic comversations about sex and are more lewd than construction workers!
How do they keep that up?
And why?
I read a question on here earlier from a 'submissive' wife who wanted to know how to keep her husband happy. If she keeps him happy - he pays her credit card bills.
Prostitutes are more honest than them!
So now you know what gets the bees in my bonnet buzzin'!
As for your Sgt. Mjr. - must be a pain working around him but if he is as old as he sounds perhaps he won't be there much longer! Retirement I mean - nothing more permanent!
Keep smiling!

I try to keep things in perspective and mind my own business and not judge people, but I find people who are selfish offensive (by that I mean people who are totally penny-pinching with their money and won't give any time to others or do anything for someone else unless they get something out of it). I also find offensive arrogant people who think they are above saying thank you and showing common courtesy and/or are better than others. Also, cruelty to animals and people (and suffering). On a more basic level, seeing people or animals with infestations of maggots is something that really gets to me too.

I really really hate Bad Cell Phone etiquette. When a person is on their cell phone as they go up to a register. Or you try to talk to someone and they pick up their cell phone without saying excuse me and just carries on another conversation. I just walk away from them. And of course, driving while on your cell phone. A guy nearly T-Boned me at an intersection because he didn't realize his light was red. Thank God I saw him in time and once I pulled behind him, I could see he didn't even get off the cell phone!! Idiot!!

Racists and narrow minded people really hack me off. People who strut around like they are God's
gift to humanity also irk me to no end. I just can't stand pompous a$$es who presume to know more than everyone else and look down their noses at others with great disdain. Oh, and people on Yahoo answers who don't use spell check.(lol)
