I get terribly embarrassed by this, ESPECIALLY if it is at work and my work mates can hear me poo. Is anyone else like this?

How embarrassed would you be if there were no toilet available and you had an accident?
Come on, everybody poops, but only low-class morons see anything funny in it.
No need to be embarrassed.
When I was in the Navy, it was an everyday event to defecate while in the same place as a dozen or so other guys who were doing the same thing.

I wouldn't say I'm embarrassed, but I try not to because I think about how many people's buttocks' have been on them. If I really have to go then I will go, but I put one of those toilet protectors on or if they don't have those then I just put toilet paper on the seat. I don't think anybody has ever heard me when I go, but that might only be because I don't go often in the public.

It's easy to say "everybody poops" but it is embarrassing, especially for women.
Part of the problem is that there are never enough toilets anyway and you're under pressure to get out of there quickly.

How do they hear you, do you sing or give your poo a pep talk to coax it out? Don't be shy, even the Dhali Lama poos, just go ahead and drop that deuce in the brownie bowl. Now if you have a screaming issue, then perhaps a stool softener. If not consult a doctor. Otherwise enjoy and good luck.

Yup, it sucks. My floor has a bathroom that I share with 2 other companies. I always use the handicap bathroom cause its the biggest and the last one. (There are no handicapped ppl on my floor for those of you ready to give me a thumbs down for using it)
When I hear people come in, I can't go. I have to wait until they leave.

I can certainly understand how you feel...

What I did was

1) to go to another floor (if you are in multi-storey building)
2) to reduce the noice, have plenty of toilet papers thrown into the bowl. This will reduce the nooise when IT lands :)

I don't like doing ANYTHING in a public restroom (I'm a total germ-a-phobe).
But yes - I do feel anxious when it's time to do that and I'm away from home. It's a very private matter!

Well, it's a normal human function, and when you have to go, you have to go! Why be embarrassed?
