I just can't get rid of this pernicious habit offending way too many people with rude remarks. I don't really mean it ever but I just can't get rid of this sarcastic personality and only later I realize I had been insensitive. My reputation is of being sullen and rude.

For example:

A woman with a baby in the crib: "Nice baby; doesn't look like your husband though".

You know it's like too much and too early.

I also don't feel like saying "please" or "excuse me" though I do say "thanks" and "sorry" when needed.

ok, this seems petty, but im interested to c what other people would do. i was just in a busy bakery and i heard a smash and this guy dropped a bottle of coke and it shattered inside the plastic bag he had it in. he was wearing a business suit and got a bit wet too. everyone just stared and walked past him. Not knowing how i could help, i just sort of gave a sympathetic smile and walked past like everyone else!!! i feel so bad!!! i couldnt have helped him in anyway but what would u do in a situation like this. i couldnt help him clean it up coz all the glass was in the plastic bag and i wasnt going to go get the mop! lol

My gynocologist kissed me on the cheek as I was leaving the office (I was clothed)..I don't know him outside of the office and have only been there 2 times prior...should I be concerned about this? Is this normal doctor/patient behavior?

I'm in college and not depressed or anything. I like my roomates, quite a bit actually. I'm not introverted, or shy, or for that matter lacking in social skills. I just don't seem to have the urge to talk to them- at all, or anyone else for that matter. I'm not shy, per say, its just that I don't want to speak. I know this isn't a very through explaniation, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd like to know.

I don't want to be rude, or make anyone uncomfortable, but I don't want to walk around following everyone with a dustpan either. What is the best way to let our party guests know about our "no shoes" policy, without being a nuisance?

I find them to be beggar words. Do not like to use them. I hate it when people expect me to say it. And I don't, they beg or plead/get hostile like for the word. WHY?

I work at a Law office as an assistant. Not a Legal Assistant. In fact, But, mostly as a receptionists. Anyhow, my boss who is the attorney is a perfectionists in my opinion. She expects everything to be perfect even how to fold a letter and putting it in an envelope. A couple of days ago she got angry or frusterated at me because I almost sealed the letter. She told me not to seal however, I did not hear her say that. I begun to seal it then her response was ''do not seal it, don't you listen?'' IMy response was ''I did not hear you.'' Then, she did not say anything. My point is she expects perfection. And, if one little thing is not perfect, she will start yelling or say something rude to me. I'm getting tired of it. What is the correct way to handle this problem that I'm having with my boss at work?

I'm so tired of cleaning up pube hair on the guest bathroom floor...I myself shave everywhere and don't have those issues. Well, should I just tell my friends they can't use the loo unless they're shaved? Should I send out a group email or what?

If someone is 4 or 5 feet behind me, I will hold the door so they can grab it before it closes. However, what if they are 10 or 15 feet behind me. What is a good cutoff point? One day I held the door for someone way behind me. It was awkward!

Why cant white Americans work the window? I always get a foriegner. I love the strange foriegners, dont get me wrong, but they cant make a burger, or tell me to have a nice day in English. For all I know, they spit on my food and told me to f***-off.

i have a friend I met six months ago and we became best buddies but then I developed a major crush and fell for him. We are both gay so he wasn't taken aback (much).

He didn't mind but then I went overboard and sent him loads of emails and texts, some of them over-the-top romantic and some completely mean. I was a basket case for a few weeks.

He is really annoyed and hurt as I have made some quite serious comments and criticisms about him and his lifestyle.

Went to Doc and he says I have been suffering from depression and hypo-mania and has prescribed me a short course of tranquillizers. (No opinions on diagnosis or prescribed meds please!)

Is there any way I can apologize and make amends to my friend? The idea of losing his friendship is heartbreaking. As it stands, I have lost the friendship but does anyone know of a good way to resurrect it and make peace with him?

(I am getting over the crush. I knew it would be temporary so a friendship would not be a problem on that score)

heterosexuals, per capita, engage in public sexual expression/behaviour more than gays do? The vast majority of mile-high club members are staright. Straights have sex in theatres, more often, engage in dogging more often, etc. This is again, I believe per capita.....Why does the English speaking world fing it necessary to inculcate its society with more stigma/intolerance against the lgbt popultaion?

My husband and I had lunch at a very nice restaurant today. Our waitperson had an ear piercing. Well, let's just say they really needed a tissue.

Should I really have to look at that or an infected piercing, while I am trying to eat?

How do you feel about this?

I've always wondered a little at the people who gawked at others who picked up there cell phone in public. What is so different from talking to someone on the phone in public and speaking to someone whom you are with in public?? This is especially the case if the person speaking into the phone is talking in a normal, quiet tone that he or she would speak with when talking to someone sitting next to him or her?

I've run into situations where people at restaurants or people who just happen to be in the vicinitiy of someone on a cell phone with glance at them with an evil eye, but will not think twice about hearing the two people at the next table's conversation. I can understand if the person is talking loudly (at most family restaurants this is ignored as long as the person isn't on a cell), or if the person has been talking a while on the phone and is in the company of someone else if that person would feel a little miffed about it...but not other people.

She lived across from me in my building for 10 yrs., we were just aquaintances, talking in the hallway only. She moved two years ago. She started calling me alot, bragging about how much better the area she moved in is. Very annoying,
Then she started dropping by my apartment unexpected and staying for 5 hours.
When she lived here i never saw her once with a guy, now she brags about some guy whos her boyfriend.
After talking to her for 2 years, not once has she mentioned her job, where she works, etc. I know shes a waitress but she never talks about her job at all, its weird.

How do i get rid of this woman?

I don't mind helping someone with their homework but if I'm nice enough to answer a question than they should take the trouble to choose a best answer instead of leaving it up to the voters.
