My gynocologist kissed me on the cheek as I was leaving the office (I was clothed)..I don't know him outside of the office and have only been there 2 times prior...should I be concerned about this? Is this normal doctor/patient behavior?

That is definitely unacceptable and improper on a number of different levels. No, this isn't normal doctor/patient behavior. I think you should be concerned about this because if you let him get away with this, he'll try to take this to the next level. I remember a show on the Montel Williams show when they showed clients of a gynecologist who raped a number of his patients after they began noticing things like this. If I were you, I'd get a new doctor and a female one, just to be on the safe side.

No doctor should touch his or her patient except to 1) shake hands when meeting and 2) in the context of care. Kissing your cheek falls under neither category and is very inappropriate.

Yeah, that's odd. Was the nurse in the room? were you in a public area? Did you get the feeling it was a creepy kiss or more of a good to see you thing, although that is pushing the doc patient relationship. Personally I would probably not go back. If he were my eye doc i may dismiss it but the my GYN way toooooo weird.

No, it's actually very odd.

Perhaps he's gay? Not to stereotype, but I have several gay men as friends and they kiss my cheek all the time.

If not, you should look into it. And if he doesn't again and it makes you uncomfortable, tell him. "I don't feel comfortable with you doing that," is a calm, respectful, and polite way to get across that you don't enjoy what he's doing.

Wouldn't that be harassment? If it bothers you, then you should probably imform others and switch to a new doctor.

Unless, your gynecologist is gay, then it probably doesn't matter lol.
