Drive through window?

Why cant white Americans work the window? I always get a foriegner. I love the strange foriegners, dont get me wrong, but they cant make a burger, or tell me to have a nice day in English. For all I know, they spit on my food and told me to f***-off.

Sadly enough, I agree. It's difficult enough to understand people's voices on either side of those little drive-through boxes, so employing someone whose first language isn't English does get obnoxious! I don't mind if they make my burger, or even if they take my order inside, but please, let's give the people who have to decipher that strange little voicebox every advantage available!

There is some confusion in your statements.

Do you desire a white American or just any American at the window?
Would it be alright if the non-foreigner at the window is non-white?
What if there is a white person at the window but could barely speak English?
What if there is a white person at the window who speaks great English but you are unaware he is German.
Will it be alright if that white person holds dual citizenship?
Haven't you yet come across a white person American who could barely speak intelligible English?
What if the person is a white Latino born and bred an American?
Will it be alright if the person at the window is a Kazakhstan-born American and speaks great English?
Will it be alright if the person at the window is Kazakhstan-born documentry film maker and speaks Borat English?
Will it be alright if the white American-born person at the window speaks Turkish, Hebrew or Polish at home - so that he might mutter something you would not understand after you drove off?
Does it mean that any Kazakhstani-, Filipino-, Indonesian-, Russian-, Laotion-, Briton-, Kenyan-, Indian-, Chinese-, Japanese- or Argentinian- American is not an American to you simply because they speak a different language at home than you do.
Have you been to New York City?

You need to clarify what you want to give us a fair chance to either applaud you or condemn you.

Because unfortunatley nobody sees the intelligence that those people have because of the language barrier, so they get stuck working those kinds of jobs instead of better jobs that they deserve, esp if they are immigrants.

I understand your poitn though. What REALLY gets me is when you call customer support for something, like Dell, and you ALWAYS get someone with areally really thick accent that you can't understand. I realize these people are probably very knowledable, but I think bieng understandable should be important to!

Yeah-not to sound racist, but I was always wondering why they have to give the non-English speaking employees the jobs that involve speaking to customers and understanding their orders while they shove all the American workers in the back on fry-cook detail. It just ends up frustrating the worker and the customer when there's a language barrier...

But I really don't think they'll spit on your food or cuss you out if you don't provoke them. They're just people trying to hack it in a new country...

Customer service that's staffed with people who speak little or broken English is what irks me. You call a number to get help but they can't help you because they don't understand you and you don't understand them.
