I don't know whether to look at them, which may be rude, or looking straight ahead, which would be ignoring them, which would also be rude. I usually try to act like I'm preoccupied with something petty on the side, but that's probably not the best thing either. Some advice would be appreciated.

friendly with. We usually workout together in the exercise room. She always works out with really cute, super tight vollyball booty shorts. Even though we are just friends, do u think it is ok if i see her sometime and give her a smack as I say hello. Or if she is standing up on the bicycle machine and listening to music, would it be ok to tap her butt to get her attention? I don't want to offend her, but she is really cute and has a niceee butt! What would u do?

My sisters were having a stupid fight about something - I was telling my boyfriend about it via email. He had lunch with a co-worker and she told him about a similar situation she had - he thought it was a funny coincidence and forwarded my email to her. I don't know this coworker at all and was PISSED that he forwarded the email. Now I wouldn't have minded if he in conversation relayed some of this but the fact that he forwarded the email, which had names, email forwards from the sisters, etc made me feel like he shared too much personal information. Am I wrong to get upset??

I see mexicans do this too. Today there was 2 big groups of black kids at the public pool - all wearing jerseys and aqua socks in the water. What gives?

y*nk?
I always thought this was a term of endearment like limey, jock, paddy, taff.
How can we, Europeans, possibly distinguish between colloquialisms and insults if we are not allowed to raise the terms for explanation?

I was just wondering if you think it is appropriate to take a helping of food lying open in the breakroom on the counter. It could be a cake (someone's birthday - and I would feel awkward having the cake anyway, since I don't even know the person whose b'day it is) or food that was ordered for a group, and then was left there. I would think the leftovers are for everyone, but I have always been hesitant to help myself, however hungry I was :-). What would you do?

I, knowing what it's like dressing for bosses at different jobs, would be pretty decent I think. Depending on what business I was running, I would say "you can wear jeans/shorts(as long as your butt isn't hanging out all showy and whatnot), t-shirts of any kind as long as they are not sleeveless, and you can wear any hat you want as long as it doesn't involve innuendos or curse words." Do you think that'd be fair? What would you allow/not allow?

Okay at church, my friends get mad that I don't say Hi to them. And usually, it that they are in a closed circle talking to other people and don't even acknowledge that they see me, so I just walk past. So if I see that they are in the middle of a conversation with a bunch of people that I should just interupt to say hi and leave?

A lady I hardly knew was at my dad's funeral.

While I was eating she came up to me didn't even say "sorry or anything." She continued on and on at least an hour about her problems and life in general. I was already depressed about my dad and other things. Then a year later after my dad's death she starts following me at my church, and then the store I go to grocery store shopping at and the same laundromat too, and asking me strange questions, about me and my family! She was stalking me, because she lives 20 minutes away and there are plenty of stores and 2 churches where she lives.

Is she crazy or what, and what do you make of this?

M co-workers are constantly bitching about their property taxes and how life and the company is doing them wrong. I agree with them but dont want to hear about it all day. It is a small company and the owner is frequently out of town.

I have a co-worker, who sits right on the other side of the wall from me, who talks to herself loudly and constantly, in addition she finds that she needs to get things from the closet behind me when I am interviewing people!

To make matters worse she is the President/CEO's assistant and if I brought it up to him she would know that it was ME! Which would make things so incredibly awkward.

I need a way to deal with this before I kill her~ HELP.

I have a co worker who is CONSTANTLY back stabbing me and everyone else at work. She talks nice and sweet to your face, but as soon as you begin to trust her, she starts talking #h*t behind your back. I cant "tell" on her, because she is the boss's BFF. What should I do?

Ok, so today I met with a hotel operator supplier. As I met him for the first time, we exchanged business cards and shook hands. The whole time we were discussing plans and negotiations, he addresses me by my first name, blah blah blah. Fast forward to the end of the meeting, we give our pleasantries again and shook hands. Then, he says "It was nice meeting you..." At this point, he reaches over to his pocket, raises my business card to his eye level, looks at it and then looks back at me, "..Tammy." How uncool was that?! Uncomfortable and unprofessional, don't you agree?

Last weekend I ordered food to go from Chili's. I called them, placed the order, drove myself there, walked inside, paid the exact amount for my food and left. As I left, I heard this punk employee yell to another employee, "No tip!" as if I should have. I realize waiters make less than minimum wage, and I always tip 20% if they do their job. But this kid did not bring me my food, he did not bring me drink refills or ask how I was doing. He waited on me for maybe 3 minutes whereas a normal waiter would wait on me for an hour or more. Is tipping really customary or necessary? I know now that they expect it, but who doesn't these days. Even the register jockeys at ColdStone and Starbucks think they deserve it now.

My boss has asked me to take care of her mother (elderly, w/ alsheimers) before, and I have done it. Well she was just gabbing at her husband on the phone about what to do with her mother this weekend, and who could take care of her. This conversation took place where I could not help but hear, unless I were to leave my desk. Do you think she was thowing hints? I really don't wanna do it. Not this weekend. I am totally wiped out, and have to plan for vacation next week.

I work with this woman in a doctors office who is getting on my last nerve...we have been short staffed for a bit and she has dont almost nothing to help...it is really starting to piss me off because I am backed up with my work as it is because I am currently working the window...one of my other coworkers told me that she made a comment after filing some charts in the wall (maybe 10 or 12) and she was like i've done my share thats it...meanwhile, i can't even get the chance to get up and do some filing...on her way out she gave me a dirty look...at this point I don't even care...should i speak my mind to her and let her know that she could help out a little more or just keep shut?
