I am 27 years old and this has been happening to me more and more frequently over the past couple years.

I know they're just being polite, but doesn't it make you feel old?

It seems we stood and talked like this, before
We looked at each other in the same way then
But I can't remember where or when

The clothes you're wearing are the clothes you wore
The smile you are smiling you were smiling then
But I can't remember where or when

Some things that happened for the first time
Seem to be happening again
And so it seems that we have met before
And that we laughed before, also loved before
But who knows where or when

We are invited to our neighbor’s cocktail party for their son’s engagement, and they specifically said that no gift is needed. This is the first time we are going to this kind of party and would like to have some advice on what we should ware and what we should bring with? No jokes, please! Thanks!

She has never asked the rest of the family to keep it quiet.

Can we mention it whenever we like?

I moved a year and half ago from my Moms apartment building, i was just visiting and ran into a neighbour i havent seen since i moved, he acted like he saw the living dead.. said how are u doing.. I just said good and said how cute his new dog is and pet it. asked about what type of dog it is, then said see u later..

He didnt talk much and i feel its none of his business or anyone elses since im living with my boyfriend,, you know how people gossip in neighborhoods. my Mom says its none of anyones business..

Last time i visited this lady saw me and first thing she says is "you move, havent seen u in ages". i just smiled and walked quickly inside.. thought she was brazen...
what do u think?

I'm meeting my boyfriend' of seven months mom and dad for the first time. They are coming to Oregon from Arizona. We are going to meet at a restaurant. Isn't it appropriate to bring something for his mum, and if so, what's appropriate considering she's away from home for six weeks? I would love any advice.

Would it be odd to wear long sleeve thermal shirts in public with no shirt over it? I know it's odd to wear Under Armor in public because it's skin tight, but thermals are loose. They're also not that see through.

My friend just told something that she really should have kept private to everyone on facebook. I am so embarressed for her right now. Why do people do that? Do people not have morals anymore?

I'm not an old man or anything lmao... I'm just a 19 year old boy, and I kinda had some marijuana recently so now I get to thinkin...

Anyways, back in my day 12 year olds, including me... we way more childlike.. cell phones were just stuff our parents were successful enough to afford and very strange technology lol. And we were playing pokemon and stuff. Now I know this 12 year old girl, she's the daughter of one of my mom's friends. But this girl dresses like a stripper in public, you know like a teenage hoochie did back in our day. She has a myspace where she has pictures of her puckering up with all kinds of makeup on her face saying ~*im sExY!*~ on the picture file. I mean what's the deal, and what about 20 years in the future? ... Are 6 year old kids gonna be acting like this? Makes me sick.

My fiance & I will be hosting our wedding reception at home. I am excited, but worried about the behaviors of some family members, &I want to be gracious in preventing/responding. To give you an idea:

1) My brother gave the finger to a guest of mine in the past: apparently the guest "took" my brother's parking spot.

2) My father lies &badly, too, e.g., he tells everyone I am a university researcher even though he knows full well that I teach at a community college. I confronted him on this in the past ("What the hell, dad?"), & he says he's getting old: he's only 64, & his memory is fine--he's lied all his life unnecessarily; this is not new).

3) My sister &mother have a nasty habit of making snide comments within hearing distance of the people they dislike, & then deny that they said anything.

None of them drink; this is just how they are in the world. I live a few hundred miles away, so they only know a few of my other guests. I'll introduce them, & then...Suggestions? Thanks!!
