Because manners are not being taught at home the TV computer and Internet and the young mens friends are raising these kids today for the most part. Respect is an option for a lot of people today where years ago it was commanded from the parents. We don't need people with more educated degrees we need more godly people with proper manners I agree with you 100%.

Well, I'm not young but in-so far as welcoming new people to our forum it is considered chatting here in Yahoo questions & Answers and not allowed and one will receive a violation notice for doing that.

Contrary to popular opinion, lol, l actually find many young people today to be very polite, sometimes l think they get a raw deal because of the way some other young ones behave. Notice l said sometimes! Otherwise, l think once again it boils down to their parents not having taught them courtesy and respect, which isn't really the young man or woman's fault!

I agree. It's this fast paced world!! Everything moves so fast that no one has time for manners. I for one am very polite and try my hardest to hold doors and exhibit proper manners ... but in the city, that doesn't cut. I'm sure you'll find good etiquette in the midwest.

The same thing that happened to saying "please" and "thank you". The same thing that happened to holding the door for someone else or opening the car door for a lady and all the other nice things people use to do. All forgotten, along with all the other good things that use to be in this world.
