Okay at church, my friends get mad that I don't say Hi to them. And usually, it that they are in a closed circle talking to other people and don't even acknowledge that they see me, so I just walk past. So if I see that they are in the middle of a conversation with a bunch of people that I should just interupt to say hi and leave?

if they are so upset about you not saying HI they should do it themselves and break away from the conversation that they are in..how hard is that?

We have the same prob at church because many of us live so far apart. Instead of interrupting, I will usually just wave really BIG and smile as I go by. If I NEED to talk with someone, I'll just quickly whisper "find me before you leave". If someone obviously needs to talk to me while I'm conversing with others, I will put my arm around her or put my arm through hers. That way I am acknowledging that she is there and that I'm not ignoring her, and that I'll talk to her as soon as my conversation is finished. Interrupting may cause another problem too. The conversation may be private. This has worked well for me for years!
Good luck!

I am with you on this one. My natural inclination would be to walk by and let them finish their conversation. However, since they are making a big fuss over it, I guess you should just say "hi" to them under all circumstances. Since they are your friends, I'm sure they won't mind the interruption.

No. It'd be ruder to interrupt the conversation - I would just wave to acknowledge that I see them.

I would at minimum make eye contact and waive. If they choose to stop the conversation they were having to rendez-vous with you then, let them. If they waive back then you both have done your duty. If they don't respond then catch them after the service.

It absolutely drives me nuts when people say to me "hey I saw you the other day and you didn't say hi to me you snob" ..... and I usually reply with something like "Well if YOU saw ME, and thought that someone should be saying HI, then why on earth did YOU not say it? Did I see YOU?"

no, thats rude. if they get mad because you are not saying hi to some people, then they are shallow. just say hi when you see them first thing. if they glare at u then just dont talk to them.
the world doesnt revolve around them. people have other things on their mind then them. if they dont get that then let them be.

I say let them be and not say anything ...atleast that what I do. If they say something to you, you can say " well you were in a middle of a conversation so I didnt want to distrub you"

Sure, it'll show that you're better than them, since you care more, and you go out of your way to say hi. You sound like a good friend.
