a co-worker has Bill collectors call and show up at work daily, yet she drives a 40k lexus , the best fashion money can buy. always showing off the latest everything. but will ask me almost everyday to lend her money.not 5 or 10 dollars but 2 and 3 hundred dollars at a time. I did once never, never saw it again yet she will still ask like as if she compleatly forgot she asked the day before or that she owes me still for the last loan.
when i say sorry, can't. she will get very defencive, and says things, like it's because i'm black or it's a white man thing, but today I said no its because you still have not paid me back from the first loan, and she said that it was not a loan that I gave her the money, and i said so if i lend you money today do you intend on paying it back, she then called me a cheap honky lol what do I do.

I am trying to organize a Barbecue with some friends for the fourth of July. I would like to invite coworkers from my previous workplace, but not all of the office, since my resources are rather limited (space + financial). However, I am afraid that word will go around really fast (it's a pretty tightely knit work team) and that people will feel offended for not being invited.

What is the best way for me to single out the people I want to invite without making a big deal out of it? I really would like to see them all there, but that's not really an option.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I'm a receptionist at an escrow office and it seems like everyone around me is just...fake. I'm a sweet person, but I'm not fake and I don't really gossip. People seem to think I'm rude (not to mention they are all atleast 10 years older)
when people call I SUCK at lying to them if the person they are calling for is "not available" and a lot of times it ends up coming back on me, even if I was telling the truth.
Is there any way to fake being fake, and be a better liar? lol

I was sitting at a restaurant (quite fancy in the heart of NYC) and was enjoying a fabulous (yet expensive meal). While I was dining, a very young couple sat down next to me on what seemed a date. They were enjoying the complimentary bread and water when they got upset after seeing the prices on the menu. Apparently, they couldn't afford the prices and wanted to leave.

I overheard the argument between the couple and the waiter who INSISTED on charging them for the bread they consumed.

I guess they agreed on a price and the couple left.

I think they were charged 7.00 for the bread and water...is that an appropriate price?

I just finished up going #2 at work...and I left the stall to go wash my hands.

As I was leaving, a co-worker entered the stall presumably to do his business...

As I was washing my hands I could hear him grabbing one of those toilet seat covers and applied it to the toilet seat.

I am DISGUSTED by this...I believe this to be the ultimate sign of disrespect. Why on earth would he feel the need to cover the seat after I used it? I am certainly a clean guy...

I'm seriously looking to pull him aside in the break room and confront him on this.

...has anyone else ever been insulted like this before?

I don't mean words that are aimed at certain groups of people which are clearly offensive.

I just find it hard to imagine people can find words which mean sex, bum, willy or poo personally offensive.

I had been dating this person for over a year and was getting ready to break up with her. She came up and stayed over a couple of weeks ago and then the following Thursday she called to inform me that she was going to Indiana with her sister. She was supposed to call me and let me know when she got back. That was supposed to have been on the following Sunday. I have not heard from her yet. I have called and left 2 messages this week on her cell and gotten no response yet. Here's the problem. On Wednesday of this week, I tried to use my Visa debit card and the sale was declined. I called the bank and there had been 2 internet sales amounting to almost $700.00 done that day. I had them cut the card off. I am pretty sure she stole my account # off my card. I still have the card. She is the only one that has had access to the card besides me. I filed a police report for fraud. I gave her as a suspect. Do you think it was wrong to suspect her?

I've been mentioning to a fellow female work colleague how nice it'd be if we went out one night to see a show (we've been planning this for months). Anyway, I've seen a show I liked and she said she'd like to see it too. Now, the latest, she's emailed me to say she wants to bring her sister along as well. Don't you just hate that when that happens? I certainly do. I don't want to go with her sister - I don't even know the woman. How do I get out of this one? I thought it would just be the 2 of us going along?

I was doing garden work this weekend and my wife was about to take a shower.

I realised that I couldn't find the rake. I yelled up to my wife,

"Where is the rake?"

She couldn't hear me and she shouted back, "What?" I pointed to my eye,
then I pointed to my knee and made a raking motion.

Then my wife wasn't sure and said "What?"

I repeated the gestures. "Eye - Kneed - The Rake"

My wife replied that she understands and signals back.

She first points to her eye, next she points to her left breast,

Then she points to her butt, and finally to her crotch.

Well, there is no way in hell I could even come close to that
one.Exasperated, I went upstairs and asked her, "What the hell was
that?

She replies

I have had 3 Kirby salesman knock on my door this week alone! I can't stand door to door salesman either! If I want to buy something I will go buy it. I sure don't want some pest knocking on my door! The most annoying part is when you tell them you are not interested they still don't shut up! They ignore the no solicitation signs all over the neighborhood and on my door too. Who else is annoyed with these pests?
