It's from the movie 'The Stepford Wives' where all the husbands have got together and turned their wives into perfect clones who do nothing but arrange flowers and bake and basically anything their husbands ask....the original movie was great but the remake a few years ago...uch....v.bad!

You should see the movie, Stepford's Wife.

The movie is talking about changing wives into some kind of robots, where things that husbands dislikes can be program out of wives system.

I think the term means wife too submissive to their husband without having anymore will for their own.

It means that the woman is the "perfect" image of a perfect wife, from her hair to dress to pearls to shoes to cleaning, cooking, childrearing, everything. Watch the movie first... there are several movies to pick from. Oh, she's also the perfect host to the perfect party... everything perfect. According to the movie, they are made by men's ideals.

So "perfect" it's robotic and therefore CREEPY. They obsess about certain things (like a crumb on the counter) and never have a hair out of place or any dust in their home, and it's just creepy. They never mess up.

See the movie.

The Perfect Wife, mommy, partner etc; who has a plastic smile, always looks happy, the perfect hostess, ccok, cleaner, gardener, serves on pta etc; but does not seem to do things because she likes it (even though she has the eprfect smiles); rather than doing it because she is 'programmed' to do it.
