Me? "My God, you're beautiful." What about you?

I was driving home from work tonight, it was dark and the road I was on was not well light. I accidently hit a cat that was eating some roadkill in the middle of the road. I turned the corner and the cat was right there. I tried avoiding it, but I couldn't.

I feel like a horrible person. I turned around and went back and forth twice to see if it was there. It wasn't and it wasn't in the middle of the road either.

I then drove away. But I feel so bad. Did I do the right thing? You always hear about people finding their cats dead on the side of the road, and then cursing the ***-Hole that did it. Now, I'm the ***-Hole and I feel so bad.

It was an accident. I would never hit an animal on purpose.

For instance, if I put out a new roll on Tuesday night, by the time I get home on Wednesday evening, only 25% of the roll is left. This happens all the time - every time. I've never come across this phenomenon before and I'd like to know what you guys think might be happening with the toilet paper?!?!?

I keep replenishing the rolls but it is getting pretty tired. I would expect a roll to last a few days...not ONE. What would you do if you were me?

I have heard complaints from other people---read, actually--- on Internet forums about other people making remarks about them having only one kid, no kids at all, or whatever. I have never seen this happen in real life, though. Then again, most of the people that I am around are pretty live-and-let-live and generally don't get into other people's business.

So, my question is, does this happen to you? And how do you handle it?

Yeah, I'm on a fixed income. But under the condition that a person is rich, it's OK & acceptable for them to buy Kellog's Corn Flakes because they can afford it, but because I'm on a fixed budget, people say I'm wrong if I buy Kellog's & not store brand because I can't afford it & that I'm not responsibly managing my money. I don't like store brand. It's cheaper, but nasty. & samw with Nike & Payless shoes with the same scenarios. Tell me why I bought Payless shoes for $20 & within a week, I had to replace them with another pair. So I had to buy Nike. So, isn't it better to buy good brand once, rather than cheap brand several times? You're STILL wasting money. Same with cars. New cars are expensive, but old cars are cheap, but it's expensive to get an old car fixed.

& I'm a grown woman. Why the hell can't people stay out of my financial business, anyway?

I went to a banquet for work today and I was surprised how many of my coworkers did not even know which was the salad fork. I know not everyone has money to go to fancy places but there are books on how to set a table and table manners. My parents took us to nice restaurants so we knew how to behave in public and how to eat correctly. Then on big holidays like Thanksgiving we had to take out the book on how to set the table and set a formal table. I would be so embarrassed if I was a grown adult with my supervisor board of trustees and CEO of the company and did not know which fork to use. Why don’t more parents add this to their plans of what to teach their children?

People who live in 1 home together should be able to communicate. Right? I'm in a situation where I'm unable to communicate with my roommate. When I was in foster care, I couldn't say hello & brighten up the room without the foster mom accusing me of starting trouble. I'm only being nice. How is greeting someone starting confrontation & confusion?

I get occasional diarrhea, & I live in a shared apartment for the mentally ill. I accidentally doo-dooed on my roommate's bathroom rug without realizing it. I apologized & handwashed the rug since I'm poor-otherwise I would've taken it to the laundromat, & she got mad & charged @ me with 2 knives & called me trifling, nasty, & unsanitary. But I didn't mean to do it. It was TOTAL accident.

The police was called & said she had every right & thought the situation was hilarious.

Ever since then, she has been intentionally urinating ON the toilet SEAT & stealing my tissue paper, when everyone else in the house buys their own tissue. Does she think someone is supposed to clean up her mess & be her maid? I don't think so!

In the company I work for we are so big that we have our own food court. Well for breakfast I get potatoes and bacon and sausage. Anyway we put them in a box, but you cant see inside the box. So anyway when I go to pay the guy or lady working always asks what I have and I tell them. Today I told them I have potatoes, 4 bacon, and 1 sausage. They guy goes...."Open it up" I go...."You think I am lying? and he goes...."I can spot a liar from a mile away punk".... I looked at him and threw the whole box of food at him and it spilled all over the floor...then I go....keep your food and while you are cleaning it up notice I was telling the truth the whole time.

So who do you think got fired??? The answer will come tomorrow so atleast answer what you think so you can check back.

I recently read a study that claimed we are progressivly becoming ruder.

On a daily basis, one can drive down the freeways of LA, and see cars being cut off, resulting in verbal assault.

If you walk into any retail store, you see associates being treated rudley by a customer that feels they must talk on their cell phone about their recent bout with a nasty rash, in a voice loud enough to include a full city block.

I challange you to walk through a "big box" retailer, without finding an associate talking on a cell phone, telling rude jokes in the presence of customers, or just plain ignoring customers.

I want to know this....... Is society becoming ruder? Or are we simply becoming more advanced? One can argue that we are so "plugged in" that we are not rude, only changing the rules, to accomodate the improvements that have evolved.

Instead of a quick answer, please elaborate on why you feel the way that you do.

Everyday when I come home from work, when I walk through the front door into the common hallway, I smell weed. It could only be our one neighbor which shares the front door with us. We have tried subtle ways of passing (we wrote an anonymous letter) our feeling about this on to the pot smokers and all we got was extra smelly air fresheners in the hall. Now we smell weed and a horrible air freshener. What do you think would be the best way to get them to stop? I don't think our 8 year old daughter needs to be smelling it everyday.
