I just read the question you refer to.
This person is stupid. A) becasue they insulted you for giving a good answer b) becasue they gave you 10 points which seems to put you in the advantage.

Just grin and bear it at least you got 10 points from it, even though you did waste your time with her.

"Best answer" does always have to be a kind of answer the asker was wanting--or a good answer in their opoinion but it was probably the "best". I have answered questions like that. Just be happy for the points and at least your answer was the best. Maybe the question did not fully explain what was wanted in an answer.

A disturbed one, and that is going for conservatives who do a similar element to liberals. To direct a question at a team then not permit the gang answer it yet enable non team individuals to respond to that's insane. Be like asking Bikers why this way of good form of tattoo's and not permitting them to respond to and getting in basic terms soccer mom solutions. form of defeats the purpose of the full question does not it.

I've picked an anwer as best answer even though the answer sucks. Two reasons - 1, I don't want Yahoo to choose the best answer for me, and 2, because none of the answers really answered my question
I get a lot of b.s. answers to serious questions

The kind of person who asks a lightweight, humorous question which you answer with doomladen seriousness.

Given your profile (three best answers to choose from) you must be talking about brittyboo. She said you took it too seriously. But she still gave you 10 points for best answer.
Then *you* complain here, which tells me that her comment was absolutely right. Lighten up, or you'll blow a fuse around Yahoo Answers!

That does seem like a contradiction, doesn't it? Maybe they have chosen the best of all the answers that have been offered, but have something to say about it to make it clear that some small part of the answer wasn't really relevant, or something?

Reading your best answers, it appears to be the most recent one which you have a problem with. It also appears that you were the only one who answered and got best answer by default. I don't think she was being that rude.

i did that recently only because the people didn't answer my question correctly. if someone's gonna answer they should answer the question set!

so to answer your question, somebody who is choosing the best of a number of evils because their question has not been resolved. they're just sick of bad answers and want rid of the burden.
