there is this kid at work that snaps on people and is a jerk to people for no reason. the last couple of days he has asked me questions (started a conversation with me) and then freaks out about something, like today our team at work is going out to lunch tomorrow and an email was sent to his team about it inviting them so he started complaining about how he didnt get a say in where we went and he asked me how that was fair and i was like well it was for us, we just invited you, you dont have to go if its that big of a deal. and then he started yelling at me about it, i asked him to stop and he was like no you guys are stupid and think that you run this place and all that. i told him that i was just fed up with him yelling at me for no reason and he shut up, but i still started crying, because i didnt do anything to deserve that attitude. everyone that sits around us was emailing me asking if i was ok and that he is a jerk. i am 24 weeks pregnant, is crying at this stage normal??

This neighbor has gone the extra mile to pester the life out of me since I moved in. They have no life of their own, and all the neighbors know it, so they insist on all the neighbors attending these get togethers they invent. If you do not, they politely badmouth us (ex: I dont' know why they won't participate...they don't seem to want to be a part of the community....I think something is wrong with them....I don't know why they must not like us...) It can never just be that we are just their neighbor and don't really want to hang out. Just because we bought a beautiful home, in what we thought was a quiet neighborhood, and want to just wave "h"i in passing like most neighborhoods--something must be wrong with us. How do you deal with a control freak nosey parker like this?

I asked a guy how come he doesn't open the car door for a girl, who he went on a date with; he said that he thinks it's old fashioned. What do you think?

Hi!! My sister inlaw just called, she invited us to her daughter`s birthday party at Chucky Cheese`s. Is it poliet to ask guest to pay for their own meal? She said she didn`t have the money to pay for us, but she asked what gift we were bringing, do you folks think this is rude? I`m really angry, since we paid for her daughter`s entertainment when she came to our son`s party. Is this rude?

I have the sweetest co-worker named Ed that I can't understand. His Korean accent is so thick it's impossible to understand him. Any tips?

I have just started my job about 7 months ago and am told that I am too outgoing and draw people to me. And because of me being so outgoing I come off as "childish?" I never saw that as a bad thing (excpet the childish thing), but I guess it is, I have always been outgoing and just generally in a good mood. I have tried to "not" be outgoing, but don't want to come off as rude. My job is taking care of people (on the phone and in person) Maybe this isn't the job for me. I don't want to loose the job I just got. But this is like the 3rd time my boss has talked to me about it.

Yesterday, I had a disagreement with a coworker, which escalated into a verbal confrontation.

I decided just to "walk away" before it got too ugly, but he thrust his leg infront of me to block my path, and said "uh-uh-uh."

I told him to get out of my way, at which point, he blocked the doorway with his body, arms folded, breathing hard.

Fortunately another coworker winessed this and made a joke about his behaviour, and he backed down and let me out, saying "this ain't over."

Should I report him, or just shrug it off? I think the fact that he backed down signals he knew he was wrong, but "this ain't over" was a threat.

Sorry if this is a tacky question but whenever someone invites me out to eat I always "try" to pay even if they invited me but I'm not sure if that's silly because it's almost just a formality to take out my card and act like I'm going to pay. Should I just sit there and let them get the check or what would you do?

Ok here is the issue. I recently found bed bugs in our couch. The reason we have them is because of our nasty neihbors downstairs. The land lady has known they were a problem for many years and not until recently has she been working to evict them. She and her sons seem to be good people and seem concerned and have sent exterminators out last weekend for the bed bugs. We asked the landlady to reduce the rent because of the bed bugs (and other problems) but she said we could have brought them in ourselves so no way. Well, come to find out I over heard the neighbors tell the exterminator they have had bed bugs for several months and like the pigs they are they never reported them. I feel that the landlady has been neglectful and should be held responsible for these people and should reduce the rent until the problem is gone. Also, we had to trash the couch and spend several hundred dollars on preperation for the exterminators. Please advise in New York....

He thinks it's cool that he's "never missed a day of work due to illness"...yet he's sitting behind me hacking and wheezing and I'm not sure but I think one of his lungs may come flying out at any moment. I think it is so disrespectful to everyone else at work to come in when you're sick, how can I let him know that he is being inconsiderate to those who have to share his workspace?

get a massage from a new massage therapist, and I told her exactly what I wanted and she kept messing up and was rather rude.

So, I did pay her the cost of the massage when I left the massage room, however, where I would normally leave the tip on the bed, I took some ketch-up (I had a couple packets in my purse) and smeared it on the sheets of the massage table in the appropriate place.

My question is: Was it more rude to do that, or to leave 2 cents to show her what I thought of her "massage"?

Thank you!

A pretty good client of mine was just elected to mayor of her town (I have no idea why the election was held yesterday, and not in November).
I thought it would be neat to give her a silver coin as a present - it's durable and attractive.
Here's why I'm asking the question here - the last election she participated in was a tie between herself and the incumbent. She lost to him by a coin toss.
I thought it would be fitting to send her a nice coin, and a sincere note of congratulations along with it.
Do you think the coin would upset her, or do you think a sincere "congratulations" would make it clear that I meant it in a good way?

Or is that just being civil? I mean... if you see them up town you stop and talk to them and ask them how they're doing... and if they don't get the hint that you avoid hanging out with them you're nice when they call you at home just to chat...
