I have the sweetest co-worker named Ed that I can't understand. His Korean accent is so thick it's impossible to understand him. Any tips?

While this may sound like a lame answer, it does work.

When you have been around someone long enough, who happens to have a thick accent, you will eventually begin to understand them on your own.

My Ex was from Spain. When we first met, I couldn't understand him at all. After being around him though, I learned to understand what he was saying, by his pronounication. I became so comfortable with his accent, that I totally didn't hear it anymore after awhile. When he would come to my house and I would invite my Parents over, it would amaze me because they couldn't understand Miguel, but I could, so I used to "translate".

Time will work this out for you.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

Keep working on it!

My husband has hired, 3 Russians, and 2 Asians, 1 South African. While working, they are having a blast trying to teach these chaps the correct enunciation of words.

You can help him. Talk to him and teach him the pronunciation. Be diplomatic though. He'll appreciate your help.
By the way, "anyone" is singular. So, it gotta be "Anyone has a co-worker or friend difficult to understand".

Just have patience and you will get used to his accent in time. Be sure not to make fun of him.
