when it's at least 65 and sunny
today is gloomy, cold and rainy in chi-town---no spring bags for us yet!

Yes it is the first day of spring. I have some old encyclopedia's that says March 21 is the first day of spring. And I go by the encyclopedia rather than the calendar or almanac because dates have been changed.
And you can start carrying your spring handbag and start wearing some spring clothes. Don't put all of your fall & winter in storage. We are going to have some more cool weather.

When the weather allows for you to wear a spring outfit along with your new spring handbag. You don't want to be carrying around a spring handbag and wearing a parka.

Well. since today is officially spring, it would technically be today. However, it depends on the weather! I have heard that some cool fronts have moved through different areas, and some places have dreary weather today! So, I wouldn't carry a bright bag today, I'd wait for the most perfect spring day to bust mine out!

I would probably wait until after Easter. I think you could probably go ahead now. Most people will not even think twice. Isn't Spring the best! I love new outfits for spring!
