If you make a mess when you cook, then yes you should wear one. If not, then it's up to you. She might like it if you serve the food with only the apron on!

I would if you plan on cooking a real meal, then yes.
The apron will really add a nice touch. I wouldn't go frilly, but I wouldn't go bland either. Most likely you will need to wear the bib style too.

You should wear at least an apron. Cooking in the nude can be rather painful if something hot splashes on you.

First of all that is very nice of you, ...second, is this going to be a romantic dinner? If yes, will you be dressing nicely? you know casual slacks and nice button down shirt then,,,,,by all means "Yes".
Maybe a solid beige or any other color.

If it's just you and the wife, I suggest JUST an apron, the smaller and frillier the better.
(Prepare properly by bathing and scenting yourself appropraitely. And if you can't go barefoot, just slippers should be your only other apparel.)

It is OK if it is a MANLY apron. A chef's apron also looks good.

Yes, she will think it is hot. Anything with flowers should work fine.
