2 cents. I did that once to the chinese delivery man on campus. He had this incredulous look on his face. Priceless.

Leaving 2 cents would send the message that you were less than satisfied. Smearing the massage table with ketchup give the impression you are insane and says nothing about the masseuse.

Yes it was more rude for you to do that. What should have occurred is that you would not leave a tip at all. If you are paying for a good or service and request a specific service which is ignored you can refuse a 'tip' as a reward for the given service. Next time you may want to be the bigger person though.

Just think about it for a second. Put yourself in the massage therapist shoes. What would you think if you walked in and saw smeared ketchup on the table??? I'd think you were retarded, you know mental. Now If I walked in and saw two pennies laying there I'd be so insulted. You should have left two cents.

I go to a massage therapist and have never told him what to do. There are different types - I get a deep tissue massage every time - and I think they all have general guidelines for each type. Otherwise why would they have to go to school to become a massage therapist?

How old are you?
Anyways, leaving a 2 cent tip would have been more of an insult to the woman.

Both are rude, to be honest. I think a more effective way of dealing with the situation would've been to leave her a note explaining why you didn't feel she deserved a tip from you. As it stands she may not know what she did wrong and will probably just think you're a bad tipper.

Why would you have some ketchup packets in your purse?? Is it common for woemn to carry condiments in their purses?
Also, vandalism just shows how immature you are and the employees probably all had a laugh at your expense afterwards.

That was nasty, and totally unladylike.
If she was bad at her work tell her so. If she was rude tell her that also.
Ask to see her manager, and complaint there.
At the very end refuse to pay for services that were not provided for to your satisfaction.
Smearing ketchup on the sheets while she was not looking is rather childish!
Really bad form....
