I was a little hurt that one of my best friends didn't ask me to be a bridesmaid, even though her fiance` asked my husband to be in it. Despite that fact, I still wanted to throw her a shower. Her maid of honor and one bridesmaid live out of town. (I live out of town as well, but I at least grew up in the town where she is marrying, so I feel comfortable planning a shower long distance.) Her other two bridesmaids are her sisters, one which is too young to know about such events, and the other who doesn't really seem to care for her sister (the bride) much at all. I told her I wanted to throw her a shower, and she was ecstatic. I know traditionally the maid of honor or bridesmaids will host one and all pitch in on the money, and they can still throw her one if they want to (at her college, lingerie, etc). My question is who do I ask to help throw this one? Is it her maid of honor and bridesmaids, our other close friends, family members? Are there any other etiquette rules?

At my job our boss yells for nothing. He is always asking us to do a million things at one time, and I guess he expects us to do all of them at one time and if we don't he starts to raise his voice and then yells where is this, didn't I tell you to do it, it's like I am getting to it, and we tell him if you wanted us to do that particular thing first you should have let me know. Forget it that makes him YELL I told you to do this and blah blah I mean he is a Dr. wether he is professinal you tell me. So I wanted to know is it harrasment to yell at your employees to the point where he makes me cry and humiliates us in front of patients. Imean he yells even to pt's.

Like if you order Chinese or pizza, you friend or whoever gives you the money for the driver then you go up and the driver tells you the total, and you pocket the tip or part of it. Example: The total comes to 18.00, your friend gives you 22.00, but you pocket 2, and give him 20.00.

Since the viewing is this evening only and burial tomorrow, I will be unable to attend. However, I would like to do something that is appropiate to show that I am very sorry for the loss. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I work for 7 law professors. I'd like something nice to give them, but easy - it can be the same thing for all 7, but obviously, money is a consideration. I've made cookies/candy the last two years, but they're all on diets, so I'd like to do something non-food this year. Any non-lame ideas?

There are times I get very chatty and very talkative and dont shut up part of it is because I am manic and part of it is I am nervous and if I stop talking I feel I should always be "saying something".

This was brought to my attention and I was not even awares that I was doing this talking and talking to excess.

In a social setting like brithdays, holidays and fellowships how can I be a better listener and what can I do to moderate my talking not saying too little or in my case not saying too much.

I do like attention and I would be lying if I said I did not but to constantly expect pateince from everyone does get draining and annoying and have lost friends this way.

What are ways to be classy and ladylike, I do make a lot of people laugh at my church but I tend to overdo it.

What are good godly ways to talk less and listen more?

Thank you in advance for your answers and God bless you.

I still live at home and my friend is getting married....she send a personal invite to my house for my married younger sister and then also sent an invite to the rest of the family. How should the RSVP be handled....I might want to bring my current BF should I include that in my "families" number and should I buy the bride and groom a gift as I am personally friends with them both.
Also should I be offended that I wasn't invited personally?

I was eating lunch and this girl named Lauren was sitting at another table with her legs uncrossed. All of the sudden, everyone on the table sat near me including Lauren. When Lauren sat near me, she said hi at first and then crossed her legs. Why did Lauren do this? What was she trying to tell me by doing this act? I believe she may have had a crush on me. Is that why she did that?

My good friend is a really sweet person. She's a mom, patient & kind. My problem with her is every time we make plans to do anything, she is running 30 minutes to 1 hour late (or more). If we are taking our children to the movies, I have to lie and say meet me there at 2:00 p.m. if we want to see a 3:00 p.m. movie. Her other friends are not so accommodating and have stopped inviting her places. We took our kids on a vacation together one summer and we almost missed our planes twice because she will not take the time on the clock seriously. She waits until the last minute to start getting ready. It's driving me crazy. Our children are all best friends. It's hard to plan anything. I never know when she's going to show up. What's going on with her? When I ask her she apologizes profusely and tries to make up by buying us all lunch, dinner or other gifts. I'll say, "That's not the point. You said you would be here at x time." She says she has no good excuses!

My flatmate does it and its always full of breadcrumbs or marmite or something equaly disturbing. If he didn't want that much why take that much? Or just use the tiny bit of excess? He says its cos his parents were brought up in the 'crape on, scrape off' generation (ie - mid war rationing) so that's how he was brought up, but its really irritating. How do i stop him?

You win the lottery 5 million how much do you give away?Do you give to family you hardly see?Do you give any to charity if so how much? and which charity? .Would you spend it like money going out of fashion ?or would you not tell people and give nothing away at all? A family member of mine won (no where near 5 million) and i got a surprising amount considering i see them 2 or 3 times a year just curious what other people would do.

People say it is the thought that counts when they are talking about gift giving. I know this is probably true but I can't be arsed giving it any thought.
I'm not tight - I don't mind spending the money- but how can I get away with gift selection without giving any of it proper thought?

An acquaintance that I haven't talked to in several months sent me a text message that said "I am married". No "hello", no "how are you" or anything. Was she bragging or am I reading too much into things?

I am single by the way.
I know this is a stupid question but I need to know.
