People say it is the thought that counts when they are talking about gift giving. I know this is probably true but I can't be arsed giving it any thought.
I'm not tight - I don't mind spending the money- but how can I get away with gift selection without giving any of it proper thought?

If anyone is going to give a gift, buying it should be in a thoughtful manner- thinking what that person would like, what would bring smile to their face-which would be worth more than the gift itself. There are so many ways to give a thoughtful gift- buying someone something they want, something they like, something they can't afford themselves but would deeply appreciate. something they need, or something they will really enjoy having. The gift could be a basketful of homemade goodies- something also which genuine effort has gone into.

--Giving gifts is symbolic and represents sweetness and prosperity for the one you give the gift to.

Then don't bother getting a gift at all.

It is about the thought. The thought that you care about them and want to do something nice. It's not a requirement. Nor is it expected. Even if they got you a gift. After a while, people will stop giving you gifts, and you will be freed of all guilt and obligation.

Gifts are always optional. If you can't be arsed to do it, then don't. People will live. No one gets hurt.

If you really feel the need to do something - but them a pint when you are out. Whatever.

If you don't care enough to give a gift any thought, then don't give a gift. Why waste the money? Besides, people will know you didn't care when you just give them crap, so then you will have spent a lot of money and people will still know you didn't care!! Save yourself the time and money, and just give cards that say you appreciate their friendship. Or do as one of my friends did and just tell everyone you are protesting the commercialism of Christmas by boycotting the stores. Before too long, everyone will stop giving you gifts, and then you won't have anything to worry about. Good Luck!!

something actual - Touching, kissing and something extra is all dishonest. Emotional - Sending particular pictures and speaking with yet another individual that you comprehend has emotions for you and has requested to date you is dishonest. This became taking place with my bf and some different lady, and that i felt that it became dishonest. i do not evaluate flirting dishonest. this is completely exciting and threat free, yet many people experience that that's. in many situations, once you ought to question even if that's dishonest or not, that's. you rather ought to seek suggestion out of your boyfriend or female friend because anybody has different criteria of dishonest.

W.H.Smith vouchers for men and Boots or Marks and Spencer vouchers for women, everyone gets something they don't want or like at Christmas, so receiving a voucher is great and allows people to go pick something themselves.

No. I've gotten some pretty useless and thoughtless gifts from my brother and his wife...truly! With them, it is the cost that counts. I kid you not. They'd do better with giving nothing...less insulting to me and cheaper for them. That way...we'd all be happy.

Sadly...they are loaded and often will tell you how well they are doing.

Buy items anyone would like. Like clothes, for example. Everyone needs clothes and even if they don't how were you supposed to know? For men get dress shirts or ties. For kids buy sweaters. For women - I don't know about clothes for them - they are so dam picky - just stick with perfume or lotions. You can't go wrong with Bath and Body Works - if you have one near you.
