1. blow nose at table when others are eating, 2. carry their food from cafeteria uncovered walkin down hall and on elevators, 3.use bathroom without washin hands. People are just nasty and to think I work in a hospital and these are some triflin souls. Tell me why do these people exist?

OK the nose blowing, I agree with. I don't want to hear anyones snot being cleared while I am eating. The uncovered food, I'm not sure what the complaint is there, unless the smell bothers you? And the washing hands in the bathroom thing, that is(as stated in another answer) pretty much pointless because the people who don't wash touch everything you are going to touch. I suggest washing in restroom, then using the towel (if supplied) to open the door. But, what I don't get is what would our life be like germ free? People would be sick all the time. We need germs to make us less succeptible to them. If you have children and get their shots like you should, they are getting infected with the very disease they are trying to prevent. Life will never be germ free, the best we can do is basically "damage control".

I agree that is why i try to not shake hands who know's where there paws have been or have touched. i usually watch and see who will wash there hands after they walk out the restroom. Try it! Soon you will see that many walk right out it 's amazing its usually people you think are pretty clean. I have been a hairstylist for 13 years and have seen it all. Why cause they think no one is watching thats why they do that !

IT IS NOT just Professionals...
Many MANY people simply have a lack of upbringing. The parents are to blame... children ONLY do what they are allowed to do and will continue it in adulthood unless humiliated enough to make a change on their own.
Happens in ALL cultures and all countries.

what really sucks is even if you wash your hands you must touch the same door they did to walk out, just completely screwing up the fact that you DID wash your hands. they were all raised in barns, you would have to buy gloves to be safe, but then the gloves would be contaminated. no win situation, wash hands before eating and touch nothing till your done.

Everything is a big deal in a hospital. Hospitals are hotbeds of germs and contagion. Let's face it...people are in them because they are sick! All you can do is to continue to remain careful about your personal habits and don't share eating space with careless people.
