If they work for the Job Centre and have done something to warrant being sacked you shouldn't worry too much - they'll know they're for the chop already.
It's almost impossible to get the unions to agree to sacking someone in that service so they've been pretty out of order.
Just be nice, be apologetic but let them know that they have left you with no alternative.

Sit them down inside, have a talk with them. Try to be casual.
It all depends on the job and the conditions of the firing...but I would say something similar to:
"I'm sorry but under the present circumstances we have to let you go. If you need a recommendation letter I will be sure to give you one in which I will accurately describe your stay here. I wish you well in the future and hope things go well with you."
That's a condensed version but something similar.

carry him a dozen donuts with somewhat of luck from crispy cream. Or bake him some brownies. Or if he likes to smoke purchase him a sturdy cigar. in spite of the indisputable fact that he likes carry it to him (something small like donuts) and do it some situations, 2 weeks aside. Smile at him like you want him. Act like you imagine he's tremendous! this is going to take appearing on your section. persuade him you rather imagine he's tremendous. loiter round him plenty, seek for suggestion from him, slip in little compliments, and rather make him imagine you want him. maximum folk can't withstand this. He appears like a real jerk. He is conventional with how scarce jobs are so he can spoil out with it. in case you'll discover out his weak point, what he rather likes, you may provide it to him some way. Watch the employees that get remote from paintings and that he's nicer to and observe what they do for him that he likes and do it too. that's termed buttering him up and it rather works.
