I really like to drive the speed limit and not go over it. But there are instances when someone will get right on my back bumper and tail gate me. When this happens I usually speed up in order to please them. Do you ever go over the speed limit because someone is following too close?

I have asked three professors to write letters of recommendations for a federal academic program that I am applying for. All said they would be happy to do it, and I am confident that what they have to say will be benifical, but I am not sure that they have sent it yet. The deadline is this Friday, Oct 20. Would it be inappropriate to ask them if they have completed it yet and remind them of the deadline?

I think that your answer will determine what you value. If you value yourself the most you will spend it on yourself. Those who value life most will spend it preserving life. those who value prestige and honor most will spend it thus forth. this is an ink blot question. I only ask that you be honest. and keep it clean. Children read these things. (its easy to preach when you only make 3K a year)

We are having a "small" birthday party for my three-year-old son today. We originally only wanted to invite three families, but the problem is that one of the families that we invited is part of a group of our friends who usually always invites the "whole crowd" (several families of friends) to these kinds of things. We feel like if we invite one family, we should invite them all. We are afraid of the rest of these families (like six) finding out and being angry with us or feeling like we've snubbed them. One of the (six) families is our next-door neighbor, so they're probably going to notice something going on, and since they invited us to their daughter's party in the past, we would feel really bad if they thought we just didn't invite them. So even though this party is TONIGHT, we are wondering, should we just invite these people? Or just risk them getting upset with us?

It is pouring down rain today and flooding so my trip to work will be a wet on from being splashed on the 2 block walk to the busstop and being splashed the bus stop and walking through hight water a block to the store I work after I got off the bus. I am required to come to work in my uniform, cannot change when I get there, as that was mentioned at our last meeting. Last time I came in soaked the manager just kinda looked at me with disgust and said I needed to go get dried off. Duh, she drives around in her mercedes SUV so of course she never gets wet. I hate when people act like this as if a person deliberatly wants to get wet and walk around for 8 hours in wet shoes (God forbid I take my wet shoes off while at work). I have no choice and can't take a taxi and have no one to give me a ride so I have to take the bus and arrive wet. It is bad enough to get wet but to have to listen to people's stupid comments all day is worse. I can't call in.

I mean children aged like 5 and up! At this age there like small adults and should be treated and told things about life, instead of sheltered from it!

Im talking about the way adults talk to children, sometimes its just really nasty!

I saw this mother the day, and her words were to her kid, Oh will u shut up Katey, stop bein so stupid, why did I have to have such a stupid child

Thats nasty, if ur that mother n u read this u should be ashamed of urself

I was having drinks with a man and one of his co-workers came into the lounge. She asked him a question about something they are working on. After about a minute he says to her 'Rebecca, this is Pamela (and used my last name), she works for XXXXXXX. I extended my hand to shake hers and then he said 'Pam, this is Rebecca (last name) she works on the XXXXXXXX project in my office'. Is that the correct way etiquette-wise to introduce two people?

So what is the proper way, I've always been curious - if you are with someone do you introduce them to the person who you come upon or do you introduce the person who you run into to the person you are with.

I know this sounds terribly confusing, but I'd love to know what is proper.
