My job demands me to talk to people I don't want to talk toand I know that the only way I can get through the day is if I have a drink. So before work I take a couple shots of liquor, how do I get rid of the smell afterwards?
I tried gum and eating something light -- cause I also want to stay drunk as long as possible.

My supervisor's boss shared something with me and I shared it with someone, now it came back and bit me in the butt. All I could do was admit I told it and kept apologizing. Help!

Unless someone tells me NOT to tell, I figure it's fair game to share.

We're going to have a party soon for my 40th birthday, and I'd like for people with young children to find a babysitter as my home is not geared for entertaining small children... and so many parents these days don't bother to make their kids behave.

I wanted to put something on the invitations that say... "Thank you very much for hiring a sitter." or "Please hire a sitter." What would be the best way to word it, or should I not put it in at all?

Here is the thing. She is taking my husband and me on a week long all expenses paid cruise for her birthday. It even includes private jet to the carribbean, limo ride, booze, everything. It is for her birthday and she is very wealthy. She has chartered a private yacht with a crew to do this with her friends for her birthday. I feel very lucky to be included in this. We have known her for about ten years. The problem is, I have NO IDEA what to get her for a birthday present! Aaaaagh! It's less than a month away! PLEASE help!

I'm going to miss work next Thurday because I'm jetting to NY. My co-workers are going to be pissed because I planned this at the last minute. They're mostly women and I was thinking of getting them this bouquet;

I don't know much about flowers. It's for five women, should it get me off the hook?

Do you act like it is new to you and laugh instead? Do you say "I have already heard that one" and interrupt the person before finishing?

What do you think?

I think that>>>>>
I would save a Pet/Animals life before I would save a human
And if I Need CPR and someone saved the Innocent Animal First
I Would Understand.......The reason I feel this Way is Because Animals are treated like Sh it And if they were not treated so badly Than I would probobly save the human first but the way things are today It is only fair we treat Poor innocent animals first

That is why my twin sister and I are Half way to becoming Vetrinarians ...We are in our 5 year almost there

helpless(Animals/Pets)....What do you think?

They go on and on and on, you have something to say, but they won't shut up, so you can never get your word in. People do that at my work so much that they just start interupting each other. My goodness, SO ANNOYING. I do my best not to interupt, but I get quite impatient waiting for people to shut up!!

When planning a dinner party menu, who is responsible for finding out about dietary restrictions or limitations?

Some friends and I were talking, and this discussion came up. I tried looking it up in etiquette books, and didn't get a definitive answer.

A friend related that she planned a dinner party and invited a new couple her husband met through work. It was a fairly nice affair, and she invited two other couples so they could meet the new people (who don't know anyone here in town). She fixed chicken, figuring it would be the least objectionable thing for most people to eat. One couple refused to eat it on the grounds that they are vegetarian, and another refused to eat it because it was not free-range chicken. The vegetarians also refused the potato side dish (beef stock), and the salad (cheese crumbles); they ate rolls.

Is it the responsibility of the host/ess to find out about dietary restrictions, or should the guests make it known they have special needs?

Is it against wedding etiquette to do this? I don't have a date for my friend's wedding but I want to go. Is it ok for me to bring my friend who is a girl? I don't want it to look awkward though. Help!
