My job demands me to talk to people I don't want to talk toand I know that the only way I can get through the day is if I have a drink. So before work I take a couple shots of liquor, how do I get rid of the smell afterwards?
I tried gum and eating something light -- cause I also want to stay drunk as long as possible.

Hey y'all I only drink after my car is parked before I go to work. I do not get drunk only "buzzed" and this puts me in a much better mood for the day.
It is true the smell is in our stomachs not out breath also in out pores. And I will be buying vodka from now on -- really appreciate all the answers. Thanks!

Peppermint snapps (or any other flavor as they all smell of some sort of candy) is the alcoholic's drink of choice, because it smells like you just brushed your teeth. Jager is OK as well. The problem is that if you drink enough, the booze actually oozes through your pores, so no matter how much gum you chew, you may still smell. Also the smell of breath products is usually alcohol based (not the kind in booze)...so you are just altering the smell instead of masking it. Idealy, you would pick up cigarettes (which may curb your need to drink), however the concequences are a little abrupt (cancer, death, etc). Try eating some greasy, spicy, or very well seasoned foods (garlic, onion, etc), THEN brush your teeth. If anything overpowers the toothpaste, its just bad breath from food. You could also try drinking coffee to get the nice coffee breath (and the smell may mask some that you sweat out, plus it will give you pep so you don't pass out...I mean fall asleep :-)). Chewing parsley or cloves for about 15 minutes also does a pretty good job at masking the smell. Still, it is VERY important that you use some kind of cologne or smoke to hide the smell that will inevitably ooze through your pores. Vodka's great for the breath, but terrible in the long run for this reason. If you want to wreck your life, that's fine, but please make sure that you aren't driving to work.

OK little lady above me now I tell you all, then you can say you heard it all! All you have to do is give yourself an alcohol enema, that's what I said! Put it in your bum and your worries are gone because your colon will absorb the alcohol just like it absorbes nutrients. Oh yeah no smell unless your so much a drunk it's coming out your pours.

Hopefully, you can find a way. It is terrible to smell that smell on a man/woman. They think we can't smell it, but we do. The other day a repairman came to fix my clothes dryer and his breath could be smelled throughout my home. It smelled just like vodka. Gross indeed. He was a happy go lucky older man and the smell was so gross. A good way to get rid of such an identifiable smell is to quite drinking. Go cold trukey. So sad too, because many alcaholic's think we can't smell it. UGH !!

A co-worker used to say that it is better to drink gin, as opposed to vodka, martinis at lunch. That way, when you screw up in the afternoon it is because you are drunk, not stupid.
P.S. This employee was fired for sneaking out of work and drinking during working hours.

Drink vodka, there is less of an odor, and chew a piece of garlic, which will overpower any alcohol smell.
