Here is the thing. She is taking my husband and me on a week long all expenses paid cruise for her birthday. It even includes private jet to the carribbean, limo ride, booze, everything. It is for her birthday and she is very wealthy. She has chartered a private yacht with a crew to do this with her friends for her birthday. I feel very lucky to be included in this. We have known her for about ten years. The problem is, I have NO IDEA what to get her for a birthday present! Aaaaagh! It's less than a month away! PLEASE help!

Don't do something generic, Make it personal that way it will mean a lot more to her.

Because this person is obviously very wealthy, you might want to consider making a donation to an organization near and dear to her heart. Does she do any philanthropic work? Does she volunteer for any organizations? Does she just absolutely adore the rainforest? Anyway, make a donation in her name in honor of her birthday. If she is as wealthy as you say she is, then she can pretty much buy herself anything she would like to have. Obviously, a photo album would be a very considerate gift, but the donation would be symbolic as well, as she was spreading generosity with inviting you and your spouse on this fabulous trip, you are in turn spreading your generosity to those less fortunate. Pay it forward!
Have a great trip and good luck!

What I would do is:

Gather pictures of all of you from when you met up until now.

Then you can make her a collage type picture to hang in her house, or a shadow bax and decopage them all on it.

There are picture frames that canhold like 10 pictures and they are all randomly placed and can be hung as one unit. That way she can always looks at those pics and remember all the funtimes yall have had over the years. Then I would get a nice card and write something really dear and from the heart. I think she would like this better than anything you can but in a store.
She apparently has the money to spend and she can go to the store and get anythign she needs. Make it personal!

Hello:

Give her an IOU and when you return from the trip, make a "special" photograph album to remind her of the trip. Be sure to take a digital camera with you, or you can purchase a disposable one and then have the photos developed and placed onto a CD so that you can make the album yourself.

Epson.com has some great ideas for making memories.

Good luck. I personally think that gifts from the heart are the best.

It need not be elaborate, rather something thoughtful. Maybe have flowers delivered to the yacht before you leave the dock. A large festive bouquet for the "captains table" with a very nice card.

She has and needs everything she needs. Give her a gift that doesnt last. She needs no knick knacks, no purses, nothing. My favorite gift to give someone who has everything? A candle. Not one of those big ugly bulky ones, but the smaller ones that come in a holder (no not Glade) and after you burn it, you chunk it. Trapp candles are my favorite gift. A small one runs about $18 and they are so popular in Hollywood that the actress' actually took the ones off the table that were burning (during the Emmy's) even though they were given them in their "goodie" bags. Unless she's adverse to smell, its a great gift. There's a bottle of perfume in each candle. Run out to a gift store and check them out. They are awesome.

Buy her a 250 dollar leather purse that's on sale for 49.95. I give gifts like that all the time. I just cut off the sale price. oh, and make sure it's leather, not some cheap fake fur that really is worth only 50 dollars, something nice, but cheap.

Find out something that interests her, and then make her something. Sometimes when people are wealthy it hits home more when the presant come from the heart like maybe a collage of pictures of the two of you throughout the years.

I used to work at an awesome store in NC that has amazing gift baskets. You can order them online, and I do that when I can't think of anything else. Check them out - they're really great, tasteful, and a good selection.

Plan something special one night of the cruise. Like a dinner on the deck.
