First, make sure you have a great resume. Even if it is a fast food job...have a resume. Placing it in a protective cover is very impressive, and it shows them that you are professional and organized. Keep it limited to one page, clean, precise and tailored to that specific job/position. If you do not have any experience, put your academic information down, subjects studied, and any awards, or achievments. If you are a fast learner or love to work with others...that is probably going to be an asset. Have you ever volunteered or been a part of a club/organization? Put that down, also.

One thing about what to wear that is very important is to dress the way you would expect to be dressed, if you were actually doing that specific job. For example, someone working in a music store or trendy retail store would not dress the same as someone working in a warehouse, medical office, or clerical office position. Imagine you are going to get hired on the spot and be asked to work that very day...how would you look? Look the part! Stay conservative...no tight fitting clothing, make sure everything is spot and wrinkle free, nails clean. If it's a medical or food service position, do not wear cologne...some people are offended by food/cologne mixtures and in the medical field...cologne and allergies/illness do not go well together.

Think about how you could be an asset to this company. This is your time to shine! Even if you don't have experience in that particular field, your smile, outgoingness, and willingness to learn is an asset. Have some questions prepared in advance and ask them....most people don't and you will stand out from the pack. Ask what your employer expects from you. Ask why the previous person in that position is no longer there...you will gain some insight as to what your employer is looking for, and what they are not. If you are looking to advance with that company, ask if there is any room for advancement. Wanting to grow with a company tells that employer that you are thinking of being w/that company for a long time.

Make sure you listen, and don't interrupt the interviewer. Stay confident...they would be lucky to have you! It's okay to be nervous...don't say you are, but it's quite alright...even I get that way sometimes.

I am in Real Estate and when I go to people's houses for a Listing Appointment, I am being interviewed for the job of selling thier home, every single time...and I am usually hired.

At the end of the interview, if you think you would be a good fit, ask for the position...ask them when you can start. If you have to leave without being hired on the spot...send a Thank You card to your interviewer, thanking him or her for thier time and telling them that you look forward to hearing from them. Also, check back by telephone, if that is possible. Don't be annoying, but the squeeky wheel gets the grease! If they tell you that they have selected another person for the position, kindly ask them why you were not selected, and ask if there is anything you could have improved on. Listen, take the information constructively, and make some changes, if necessary.

Best of luck to you!!!

What you wear depends on the type of job you a applying for. It may require a suit or you might get away with just wearing dress slacks with a shirt and tie. It's always best to over dress for an interview than to show up under dressed. Bottom line is you need to make a good first impression.

Bring along a copy of your resume and a copy of the application that you filled out (if there was one). Often times an employer may never receive a copy of your resume from the Human Resources department so it's handy to have one at the time of the interview.

Practice what you are going to say. Make sure you have answers for the following questions:

Why do you want this job?
What makes you qualified?
What is your best/worst characteristic?
Where do you see yourself in 1 year?

These are some basic interviewing questions that usually get asked. See if one of your friends would be willing to give a mock interview.

Try to relax and smile.

Good luck!

First thing you want to do is look the company up on the web. Find out as much information as possible and bring a couple of pages with you. Secondly, always wear a suit and tie with nice polished shoes. Thirdly, be on time. Its better to sit in your car for 20 minutes; than be late. Fourthly, remember your interview (s), name and ask for their business cards when the interview is over. Fifth, don't sit until you are ask to sit down. Six, while sitting, try not to sit with your back on the chair's backside; lean forward and pay attention as to what is being said to you in the first five minutes of the interview. Eye contact is extremely important. It's ok if you're nervous; you're not along. You'll be able to determine what's expected by that. Seventh, remember you are interviewing, but you can also interview them. Have a least 3 to 5 questions to ask the interviews about the company, and what's expected of you, duties in a typical day. Eight, don't negotiate salary on the initial interview, or other incentives. Ninth, make sure to have at least 3 copies of your resume with you. Good luck; from a former Human Resource person.

ok, firstly remember that the person interviewing is most likely (depending on the job) goign to be working with you, so smile and be friendly. I don't mean slap him on the back and say alright mate, but you get the idea. Make eye contact, and be confident. This is the most important thing. I can't possibly tell you what to say, as I don't know what u are applying for, but think carefully about your answers (but not with long silences) and be honest. You are being interviewed, so wait for the questions after you say hello and shake hands ( no limp hand shake either). Whatever the job, get a hair cut, shave if you're a guy and put on a suit, and don't forget to polish those shoes. Your appearance is very important. Best of luck!

Dress as though you already had the job and had an important meeting - nice but not to nice. At some places - if you overdress for the position it's the same as being underdressed. Your future employer will think you have no concept of what the position is.

Act politely, avoid asking too many questions (again, it will make you look like you know nothing about the position you are applying for). Reserve questions for the important things. Anything you're not certain of you can ask after you're gotten the position, if hired, so don't ask questions about how to do the job.

And just answer questions as casually and completely as you can.

Good luck!

Dress neat and tidy. Clean finger nails. No jeans. Make eye contact with interviewer when answering questions. Stand up straight. Be polite. Wait to be seated. Answer questions completely and to the interviewers satisfaction. Be inquistive about the position at the end of the interview and always ask when the interviewer will be making their decision.

What kind of job? I don't think you can go wrong with a suit and it's a must for many interviews. Act professional and excited to be part of the team.

Be confident. Sell yourself. Don't let the company.interviewer sell themselves to you. Don't have a weak handshake- that freaks people out. Dress as you would for the position you're applying to. You act polite- obviously. You talk about your experiences. Really know what you put on your resume. Prepare a little opening if just just sit you down and expect you to talk about yourself. Really know your strong points in life/careers/education. Flaunt them but don't be cocky. Just be CONFIDENT.
