i just started a jod where i'm one of the few white people (i know you may think that's wierd but it's true) but i'm not racist. but i also know that i don't fit in and i want to make friends. how do i go about that without coming across too (i don't know how to phrase it).

i don't want people to make fun of me. i'm more shy than anything else but i can't afford to lose this job. i want to be excepted and not have everyone thinking i'm being nice just because they are a different race. i want to be taken seriously. i'm a very nice person and i want people to see me as i truly am.

what can i do to make friends without offending anyone.

Would you consider a person to be disabled enough to help them through a door if they are able to walk without help of a cane or crutches or walker. Even if they appear to be bent over a bit?
What do you think about people that can walk from their car to the store but still be parked in a disabled spot?
What do you consider to be disabled?

I heard a loud noise outside of my trailer and whenI opened the door my possum stinky ran inside as fast as he could making weird and loud scared possum noises. I looked further outside and there were hogs with horns on their noses making loud oinking noises charging towards my trailer.

IS this normal? I called the cops and they hung up on me. I dont have any weapons and I dont know what to do. I am looking out my window now and there are more than 10 hogs and they are charging my trailer and putting dents in my metal siding. What should I do?

This happens WAY too often. And now if they ever ask, from that point forward they cease to exist for me. Now you know you are never going to see the first amount.
If someone asks you for money, give them half the amount. Let twice as many people breathe down their neck.

We recently hired a new person where I work. We are about the same age and talk a lot at work because our offices are next to each other and I am helping train her. She seems to want to be best friends with me now. She invited me to a movie-- which I went to because I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but now she wants me to come to her house this weekend. I don't like hanging out with co-workers outside of work. I keep my personal and professional life separate. 40 hours a week with my coworkers is plenty. I want to spend my weekends with my friends. How can I tell her that I don't want to go to her house, nor do I want to be her friend?

If you go out to shopping or anything else, why do some people call by "Sir" instead of "Friend" or "buddy"? Is this because the person being called "Sir" doesn't know how to treat people nicely?
Someone told me that "Sir" is for someone who you don't trust. For example, If I am working as a cashier in store, a customer says to me "thank you, sir."

Thank you for your time.

...the girl sat at the kitchen table and watched me perform fancy tricks with my mum's best glassware, but my mum walked in which startled me and caused me to loose concentration as I was juggling her fancy dishes? The dishes all broke as you may have guessed!

Or should I even apologize because it's my mum's fault that the dishes fell because she startled me?

(And, no, I do not live with my parents; I just visit them, and I recently arrived back from a holiday to visit them.)

Thank you!

I am just looking for a way around the boring conversations. I've made cue cards for her to make the conversations more exciting, and I've even held my breath until I pass out to try to liven things up; nothing works with this one.

If she thinks I cannot hear her, I am thinking that maybe she won't speak to me.

My son and daughter have been friends with a little boy and girl who live down the street (quarter of a mile away) for a year now. Their mother, I have tried and am still trying to get used to her personality and trying my best to be friends with. She is nice but she invades my private space (hugs galore)& can be a pest at times, showing up at my front door with her kids every day. Sometimes she sends her kids by themselves walking to my house (they are 5 and 6 yrs old) and doesn't call me to let me know they are coming. I am afraid that one time she will do that, we won't be home and they will mess around on our property and get into things or get hurt before turning around and walking home. I don't mind having company once in awhile, but I am not a huggy kissy person and and every-day-visitor type of person. I want to remain friendly with her but I don't want the company every day. Sorry I wrote a novel.
