I'm 19, female, and in college. This is for a summer formal with traditional dancing. I've done this type of dancing before but never in a poofy floor length ballgown.

Thank you!

I think affirmative action is racist, patronizing, and insulting. I don't want to be a "token black girl". But I don't want to become paranoid either. It would feel rude and embarrassing if I actually literally asked "are you only hiring me because I'm black"?

I've seen a LOT of posts here about the new sanitary belts being popular. I looked into it and spoke to my mother, grandmother, aunts and friends.

Here is what I found:
- Old women (40+) hate them because all they remember were those crappy belts and thick pads of a LONG TIME AGO.
- Young women using Tampons can only talk about how they hate pads...so why listen to them? They use TAMPONs not pads!
- All the other women that sqawk about the belts have NEVER USED THE BELTs!

So after 12 years of using sticky pads, I decided to try them (based on a girlfriend recommending them). Guess what?
- I will never go back to stickies!
- the NEW pads are thin, the NEW belts hold them snuggly in place
- the belts are wide, comfy, lacy and don't roll
- no more pad sticking to myself or bunching up

Much, much, much better.

Any other thoughts?

I just graduated from high school. This past fall, my best friend was voted Band Sweetheart on Homecoming Court and even though I really wanted it I was supportive because I knew she deserved it. I did her makeup for all of her pictures and presentation and I decorated her car and everything. I figured I would get over any jealousy I felt really fast but it is still a touchy subject. I didn't know that I wanted it so bad, and I find that I am still jealous and I don't like to talk about it. What is wrong with me? What's it going to take for me to just let it go? I know it's a stupid thing to still even think about and I just want to not care anymore. Any ideas why this is still bothering me? Mean or negative answers aren't necessary. Just help me out please.

I do, and more than that, it can be dangerous. At a busy store (like Walmart), esp at a busy time of year (Christmas, back to school) space is tight in the parking lot and there are always lots of people milling around. Any further obstacles and blind spots make things just that much worse.

I try to take an orphaned cart with me out of the parking lot as I enter the store.

What do you all think, am I being oversensitive? After all, they have people to bring the carts in don't they?

I am in a relationship with a woman (38) who lives in L.A. I live 100 miles away. She has a friend (male) who is very wealthy, and likes to be surrounded by pretty women. She often goes on his yacht with her girlfriends. She has a good time when she goes, and enjoys going from club to club with him and her friends in his limousine. I have never met this person. This weekend, my girlfriend is attending a birthday for one of her girlfriends at a nightclub where this guy is buying bottle service for $2,000.00 and having a private table. Only women are invited, but most certainly some of his friends will show up. She intends to go, over my objection. Is this disrespectful? If we are in a relationship, should she be attending these functions where I am not invited, so that this guy can feel important by having my girlfriend participate (nonsexually) in his harem? Should she decline the invitation out of respect for me, or is it normal to serve herself up for this guy's pleasure?

I mean, my kids were in bed by 9pm. I cannot wait to move! Why aren't these parents telling them to come inside? They are screaming, yelling and blowing a whistle right outside my door. The kids are under 7! Have they no manners?

My sister has a 19 year old stepson that lives with her. We recently began a sexual relationship and I don't know if we should continue to try to hide it, come clean or just end it. My sister would probably be very upset if she found out, because she has raised him since he was 4. What should I do?
