I dont know wether to tell them "No, but even if i was i think it is a very impolite question to ask." or something like that. HELP!!

1. Well, in retail, it IS about customer service. So for the second person, who was indeed very rude, you have to just grin and bear it.
It's tempting, of course, to retort, "Yeah and you should go to charm school." BUT, you have to just be polite for the sake of employment.

2. I used to have a friend who, when people asked her when "she was due," she'd smile broadly and say, "Oh, in about 10 months."

Yeah, it's embarassing. Been there. Done that. But, I just blow it off and keep going.
With the first lady, we've all been there. Asked a question we regretted asking. And the 2nd lady, well, rude people happen.

I had that happen once as well. And I wasn't even fat at that time. I was 10# under weight. In your case I can imagine that after 2 incidences and the horrible rudeness of that last lady that said to exercise, I would really try to run some scenarios out in my head. It would depend on the type of person as to how I would respond. So, in the case of the ruder lady who told you to exercise more, I would say "No, I'm just fat." And I would get a very big and sweet smile on my face. Then I would pause for a couple of seconds while maintaining eye contact with her and then ask her something that fit her description or any physical flaws she has. Something like "Is that a wig?" or "Do you wax your beard?", "Did your parents beat you with an ugly stick?", "Is that your real nose?" "Do you have top and bottom dentures?" Ya know, anything cocky that fit their flaws. And if the woman ever complained to your boss or something I would just play really dumb. After all, these would be just as innocent as someone asking you if you were pregnant. Man, I really feel for you!

say yes im pregnant and take a swig of vodka in front of them. no im kidding. I work in retail too, and sometimes i see women and i think they are pregnant and i want to ask them how many weeks out of curiousity..(i work at a lingerie store so its semi-relevant). but the rule is don't ever ever ever ever ask if someone is pregnant unless it is BLATANTLY obvious which im sure it ISNT with you. Next time someone asks you say "i'm suprised you're asking that" and either change the subject immediately or just say no im not pregnant, you should really be more careful at what you say. Even as an employee its not fair for you to be treated like that, dont let those awful customers talk to u like that. Its not right to ever ask a stranger that question.

I'm not really fat but I have been married for six years, so people have expected me to get pregnant for the last four years or so and I have been asked this question countless times. My usual reply is "no, why, do I look pregnant?"
The person then gets really embarrassed and stutters something like "no, no, not at all!".

If they are men that say that to you, tell them, well, yes I thought we already had this conversation and WE decided to keep it!! lol If it is a woman tell her yes, and ask her if her man hasn't told her about it yet! lol

That is a rude question for someone to ask. Sorry that you've run into people like that.

Just say "No...did your mother forget to tell you about manners?" Or another question that points out their faux paus. They should be embarrassed right back for asking such a rude question.
