Stereotypes have to come from somewhere? It can't be one single person who one day decided to invent one. So are they really true?

I do nothing but eat smelly lunches( in a very tiny breakroom) such as tuna and brussels sprouts, curried bean sprouts and brown rice, and sauerkraut with aged broccoli and feta cheese. It reeks, lemme tell you! And the consequences will make anyone's eyes go buggy and bloodshot when they walk into one of my BLACK CLOUDS.

Seems to me, the overweight people are getting in more trouble for this than I do, and I SERIOUSLY rival tear gas.

I got hit in the face with a door! When I asked the guy why he didn’t hold the door open he said he was afraid I would get mad and think he was trying to dominate me. I could understand his fear, ridiculous as it may be. But I think letting the door hit someone in the face is ruder then holding it open. I don’t know who started this “you can’t hold the door open for me because I’m a woman” thing but I wish they would have considered the results of such thoughtlessness. How would you know a man is trying to dominate you unless you can read thoughts? Assuming all men think one way is called stereotyping! All men don’t think that way. I hold the door open for everyone, I think everyone else should to.

I had my wedding last year, we invited 100 people with an exception of 50 extra people just incase...Guess what??
we had 100 gate grashers... well after church on arrival at the reception the hotel had allowed them in...and so we had to pay for the extra costs coz the hotel manager wanted to creat a drama with that.and we finnaly paid to avoid embarrassments.
How would you have handled that situation.?

What would you do if you had a friend who keeps calling you? You're kinda irritated with this constant calling because you don't normally talk to this person and they just pop out of nowhere and start wanting to hang out or whatnot. I understand it's rude not to pick up the phone and ignore them, but what if you just don't want to deal with them? Don't get me wrong- it's nice to meet new people and just chat, but sometimes I just don't want to be bothered. Any kind suggestions?

we are having our wedding about 100 miles away. is it a must that i invite the folks that i work for? when our wedding date arrives, i will have worked with them for 1.5 years. my opinion is that a wedding is a personal thing, but would it be rude to NOT invite them after knowing them for 1.5 years?

We have a new neighbor, and in our apartment complex the wall between our two master bedrooms is thin. I'm a really light sleeper, and she gets up early. The problem is, her alarm goes off, at it's loudest setting every morning at 4:00a.m. I wouldn't mind this, except for the fact that she hits snooze, so we hear the alarm constantly for the next hour!!(EVERY WEEKDAY) We have an infant in our bedroom, and it actually wakes him up as well. I can't stand it anymore. I feel like i have no right to say anything, yet I want to. What would you do?
I have talked to her casually a couple of times, but I really don't know her well, and don't want to cause a problem.

My family and i went to burger king last nite on our way home from a long trip and two teenagers walked in with their own cups and helped theirselves to soda and walked out laughing. The manager saw this and did nothing why? Was the manager afraid to approach them? It's a matter of a few dollares but hey If I have to pay for it they should too.

For a long time I've kept this quiet and I haven't said anything to anyone but it really is bothering me now.... We have a lot of friends that are well off, and whenever we have a party I notice that they are really cheap with us. Either they bring no gift or bring a very cheap (thoughtless) gift. Now it really irritates me because I am not like that with them. When friedns / friends have a party, I not only arrive with an expensive gift, which I try to really put a lot of thought into, but also something for the party (a dish or a bottle of wine, etc).
I am very generous with my gift-giving, I have given out large TVs, coats, fine jewelry, even boat cruises. And I don't see people coming even close to how much I spend on them! I am trying to "do unto others as I would like done to me" and I know it is the thought that counts but it is really upsetting me now.
Am I sending out a message that I do not see? Do people think I don't care about gifts? I can't expalin it..

Like you're in the library, and you put your feet on the table, and you lean back just a little too far? Or when you are at a public event?

So many people just let doors slam in each other's faces as they walk through them. Do you think American society is steadily getting less polite or were we always this way? Although "politeness" is relative, aren't there common courtesies that span most regions and cultures?

It bothers me that so many people in this country have no desire whatsoever to learn another language, and yet the rest of the world is pretty much required to speak English. Americans know this when they travel abroad, so they actually expect the rest of the world to accomodate them by speaking English. Isn't this wrong?

A homeless friend is living with me how long should I let them stay?
Please note I am asking this question on behalf of someone that has no computer, just for the record. I gave my opinion, and they thought I was being mean.

Question:
I let a friend of mine move in 2 months ago who got kicked out of their apartment, got a dwi and totaled their car. They are drawing disability, and are on food stamps. They pay me one half of the utilities, and buy all the food. They pay no rent. They say they are saving to move, but just sit around my house all day watching my tv, drinking beer, and smoking. They used to be a drug addict and sold drugs but say they don't do that anymore. Their family and other friends turned them away so I hated to see them on the street. This buddy of mine printed out some local ads for them at around $400 a month utilites included, but the person living with me says they can't afford it.

Any professional advice on this I can give this person? What do you think I should do? I don't want to be mean.

The following website allows people to thank troops by choosing a card, editing a message and then Xerox prints out the cards and send it to soldiers. This method of thanks would be poor etiquette when it comes to wedding, shower or birthday gifts. Is it also poor etiquette when thanking someone for their service?
