Stereotypes have to come from somewhere? It can't be one single person who one day decided to invent one. So are they really true?

The thing is, there are always some people who fit the stereotype. I guess someone noticed that a lot of * people were x and just assumed that all such people were the same.

Stereotypes are always true for at least a part of a group, usually a small part, and not true for the rest. Sadly there is a lot of people who assume that stereotypes are always true. I personally think stereotypes are ********, so I don't stereotype about others and I judge each individual by who they are, not which group they belong to.

Stereotypes are true for a reason. Obviously not everyone fits into the mold but lets be honest. The people that yell its wrong are only looking at the negative. When i think stereotypes these are the ones that come to mind.
1 Asians are good at math
2 Latinos are hard workers
3 french people smell
4 Americans are rude
5 Men don't ask for directions

No, they aren't true, that's what makes them stereotypes. If they were true, they would be facts. For example, if I said a particular race has darker colored skin, and they do, it's a fact. If I said people of a darker skin have a particular character trait, then it's a bias or a stereotype.

When you generalize about any one group, it is by definition stereotypical.
You can only comment on individuals that you have met and their individual character traits. Anything else is bigotry.
Besides, you certainly wouldn't be criticizing others in public, would you? That is downright rude and egotistical to boot.
