What would you do if you had a friend who keeps calling you? You're kinda irritated with this constant calling because you don't normally talk to this person and they just pop out of nowhere and start wanting to hang out or whatnot. I understand it's rude not to pick up the phone and ignore them, but what if you just don't want to deal with them? Don't get me wrong- it's nice to meet new people and just chat, but sometimes I just don't want to be bothered. Any kind suggestions?

For some reason I feel really guilty too. Like when I don't answer the phone I feel that I have to so I end up having 2 talk 2 her. At times I feel I'm too nice.

Oh, this person isn't just a random friend. I've known them for about 4 years- it's just that we don't hang out @ school or elsewhere. I have other friends who have stuck w/ my through thick and thin, while this person hasn't.

If you don't want to talk to them don't answer the phone it's not rude they won't know if your busy or not. Don't suffer through a friendship you don't want, belive me it will work out better in the end if you just quietly become more distant, they will give up trying to contact you and there will be less hard feelings than coming out & telling them you don't want to talk to them, you'll just drift apart

I've been ignoring my so-called bff for a while because she's so stuck on herself and kinda rude (like calling at 2am). I used to pick up the phone, but she'd just brag and brag and then say things that irritated me because it's like she's trying to be my carbon copy. And now she sends emails talking about the D-list celebrities and their relatives that she "meets" in these random and obscure places. Even my bf said her emails and phone calls are dumb and pointless. Anyway, it's crazy because she's 25 and in a month, I will be too. I feel like we're too old for this crap.
We've been friends since high school (that's 10 years in case you were wondering), but she's never really been a true friend. She's judgemental and I can't take it anymore. The only thing I know to do is ignore her and pretend that my life is so fabulously busy that I can't keep up with keeping in touch...... Her life is so great, why should she care?

Get call display and don't pick up the phone when he calls. Or let all your calls go to the answering machine and just pick up the phone when it's someone you want to talk to. Let the people you want to talk to know you're doing this so they won't hang up. If nuisance guy gets through, tell him you're busy. It's a common problem but they need to be discouraged. Someone who doesn't respect your boundaries could become a problem in more serious ways.

Are you related to me by any chance? LOL I feel the same way. I like to meet new people but if I don't feel we "click" than I don't want to deal with them anymore. One thing I learned to do is to answer their call when they call and not really have much to say....I mean because really I don't. Be cordial but be boring....lol. And for future reference, think twice before you give out your number. Especially since you're not a phone person. If you keep ignoring them, you're just going to feel rotten and rude about it.

It's hard to tell someone that they are being irritating or even to tell them that you don't want to be friends. I mean, what can you say? I would just check the Caller ID. If her number is blocked, wait until the answering machine picks up. That's pretty much all you can do without getting all caught up in trying to figure out how to tell her to stop bugging you. That'll be putting too much time and effort into someone who you don't want to spend time on.

All i can say is tell this person that you like them and dont mind hanging out sometimes but you really are not comfortable on the phone all the time and have other stuff to do. Just be honest...

Then I have an inclination to take it out on christians, those that were given me offended contained in the first position. whats up, i'm a minimum of one/2 human.

Well just tell them you dont feel like being bothered your in a more laid back mood or something. I know just how you feel too. Good luck with that one cause sometimes no matter what you do or say they don't get the picture without you being mean to them. You know?

If you don't want to hang out or talk to someone because they are irritating, they aren't really your friend are they? I would flat out tell them I don't consider them my friend and that you don't have time for them. Sounds mean but it's much better than ignoring someone.
