Every time I walk past my aquarium, my fish are swimming. How often do they sleep? In what position do they sleep?

yep. fish sleep but they don't close their eyes when they do. i see my fish sleeping mostly at night but sometimes during the day too. they sink to the bottom of the tank when they're sleeping and maybe tilt a little to one side.

I have two fish and I've noticed how they will go to the bottom of their respective tanks and do what I would call rest rather than sleep. The reason your fish always seem to be swimming may be because when you walk by the aquarium they are anticipating getting fed and they start actively searching for the food. My goldfish does this all the time when I walk by his tank and it's pretty funny to watch him follow me from one side of the tank to the other, LOL! He's a greedy little sucker!

Humans have understood sleep in a strange way, and the concept has got deeply engraved within us.
Look at it as rest, and it will help you to easily understand how the rest happens to each "cell" of the body. In fact this understanding will enhance your sleep quality, reduce the sleep quota, increase productivity, and ALSO help you to understand how other being get this sleep/rest !

No, fish don't sleep like humans, dogs, cats, etc. They only rest.

Hard to tell. They don't have eyelids to close.
