When I was 16 I had a chance to meet a very prominant person in my community. The first thing I did was say hello and put my hand out for him to shake. Instead of shaking my hand he says "I don't shake the hands of women."

I just want to know if you have to stand up when someone you haven't met before enters the office. It's a business meeting and the other person is also a woman. What's the etiquette in this case?

a friend invited me to attend mass. can you please tell me what goes on at mass? on tv, i see people kneel and eat a flat piece of bread. do i have do that too? also, when would i have the chance to talk to the pastor?

We went to a restaurant for a meal, while i was in the toilets the chef came in shook his snake and walked out WITHOUT washing his hands, i gotta say a bit frightening eh?

I was just at a large retailer. The lady in front of me (call her Anna) let her friend (call her Mary) place 2 extra items on the belt. I thought Mary was just adding those items to Anna's order, no big deal, right?

...But when the checkout clerk goes to check those two items, Anna says that it is a separate order from Mary's.

...After finishing Anna's checkout, the clerk takes Mary's membership card and runs it through. Her order comes to $28.19 - she gives him 2 $20 bills and then spends about two minutes rummaging through her purse for 19 pennies...

I mean - come on - it's bad enough you cut in front of me, but then you have to count out 19 pennies...is it just me, or was this another example of rude behavior?

I'm a single father of three little girls and I've taught them to go into a public women's restroom, stay together, go into one stall, take care of business, wash up, and come out. I stand right by the door and I've taught them to scream if anyone were to touch them or talk to them inaproprately.
So my six year old daughter goes into a restroom and then she comes flying out like five seconds later because a little boy from her class was in there with his mom and he pointed and laughed at her.
It was awful for her.

I work in a cubicle environment. I have been fighting a cough and throat tickle all morning. When I have to cough, it is loud enough to be heard by other staff. Accoridng to etiquette rules, do I need to say, "excuse me" or anything?

I know this guy who has been is a serious relationship for a long time with this girl. they have sex very often and they seem to click on other levels as well, yet he is always on the look out for a chance to cheat on his girlfriend. why isnt he satisfied with what he has?? he is not the only one either, my boyfriend has a couple more friends who are just like that. What i want to know is why guys dont break up with their girlfriends and go find some other girl whom they really like, i mean why cheat????

When a new cashier line opens up and the cashier says "Can I help who's next?" why does everyone scramble from the back of the line to the new cashier? Shouldn't the person in the front of the line patiently waiting their turn be allowed to enter first to the new cashier line?

There are certainly social rules for this subject. For example as an adult male I think it is inappropriate for me to tell a younger girl her zipper is down.
1. A stranger
2. An Acquaintance
3. Gender
4. Age
5. In a public place.
I use to walk around with my fly open mainly to see if anyone would say anything to me (besides the fact that I'm just weird like that)

in my house there is a simple law that must be obeyed, towels must not be put in with the clothes in the washing machine. today the little woman trangressed and mixed the whole lot in, luckily i seen her do it and had to sort the washing out again. now she must be punished. do i hide the keys to the drinks cabinet or deny her the fortnightly 7:30-7:35 pm friday love session.
