White or pale peaches, pinks and blues etc. at weddings. At funerals greys and blacks and much darker colours that go in the black area. At a social party wear something clean and respectable like a suit or a black skirt or pair of trousers with a nice plain top.

wedding's depend on your position, and how formal the wedding is. the range is from nice but casual to ultra fancy (just don't dress like the Bride unless that's you)

For funerals something somber ie not tropical or loud print.

a social party? ask the host to suggest a style.

It used to be a suit and tie for men, dresses for girls. Now just some attempt at dressing up is ok. If you wear jeans, make sure they are not ripped.
